My point was to focus on signing what we needed instead of throwing scholarship offers at lineman we originally had no intention of signing. That is a waste of a scholarship was my point. My first post was addressing the fact that we did try to get the lineman. Any how coat it to whatever makes you feel better.

Regardless. Go Dawgs.

We went all in on Tunsil, using the fact we were not going after any other LT as a selling tool to how sure we were he was our guy.

We didn't get him.

Okay... so now many want to say we didn't need him and we have plenty of capable guys. That's fine... but I don't want to
hear anyone saying that blame the O-line if we have any struggles.

It's a very simple concept. Those who think we are fine may indeed be right... I hope they are, but if not... no excuses.

Very simple statement of my opinion, but keep on arguing..

God Bless and Go Dawgs

WD, you seem to be taking a very hard line here. First off if I want to say something I will, whether you want to hear it or not. Don't want to hear or read it, move on down the damn line.

Said you are a business man, maybe what UGA needs is your expertise in recruiting our needs.

Ease up hoss.

I'm not taking any hard line. I didn't just pull the stuff about UGA's biggest issue with this class was going all in on Tunsil and failing.. leaving us with a weak year for bringing O-linemen in.

An ESPN analyst said it.. an article on the AJC said it, and two different articles posted on Bleacher report said it.

I echo it. That's all, but I will move on down the "damn" line Buc.

Thanks for the sage advice.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Losing Tunsil hurt no doubt. But if he was looking for the package deal I am glad he didn't sign with us. I'm so sick of the attitude of kids today all they think about is what somebody should give them. I remember a 5 star running back we just had to have and we got and in my opinion did more harm than good. We still have a lot of talent and depth and just like Has been said NO EXCUSES. They are many 3 stars that have maned up and become 5 stars.

WD, that is what I am guessing you are not understanding. UGA offered more O-L than LT. I recall going after 2 early in the game that ended up committing somewhere else. I know one went to usc, but I can't remember where the other one went. Then, we went after the Brown kid who originally committed, he backed out and went to uf. Then, we went after Crowder and the kid who went to Virginia on signing day. That's my problem with your argument, you keep making it seem that UGA only went after Tunsil and that is false. Many more were offered, they didn't come.

I am not following your complaints because the flip to your theory would be that if we did sign Tunsil, then you would have no reason to complain about the O-L. Just not making sense. But as Buc stated, time to move on down the line. He's right and it goes to the both of us.

Buc, sorry to cause a sleepless night. Grew up outside of Atlanta, I can remember our neighborhood. There were 2 families of UGA fans, 3 bama fans, 2 fsu fans, and that is all that I can remember. That is the reasoning for my thinking about trying to lockdown the state. I like the idea, and I think that needs to be the goal every year, but it is unrealistic.

I thought about the recruiting class a lot last night. I guess here is my point. I am happier with the additions of Wiggins, Mathews, Langley, and the LB's, than I would have been with Tunsil, Kamara, and Adams. Don't care about the state rankings or whatever. We have 0 proven players returning in the secondary. That would have been my main area of concern.

GO DAWGS, keep grinding and building.

CTG has me concerned. For some reason I believe he will leave. Also, my gut feeling would be to promote Olivadotti, and bring in a young, former player to coach OLB's.

AllDawgs5, if Todd Grantham told Davin's Mom that he would be in Athens to coach her son, then pulled out for the Saints, it would leave me thinking along this line . . . .

There was a head coach of the Atlanta Falcons that in my opinion (probably thousands more) that was a piece of spit in Atlanta, then moved on and proved just how worthless he is/was in Arkansas. Really set the Arkansas program back big time. Think that was the move that made Arthur Blank realize he needed stability in his organization. Looks like it worked, the Falcons recovered and had a great season.

That is a hard pill for anyone that has served in the military to accept, and we don't. Honor means a lot, and that is on all fronts, both civilian and military.

I believe he remains in Athens. I hope he remains in Athens. Him leaving would really have an effect on not only the players, the fans and alumni would truly be upset.

If Todd Grantham is clean and did not make those promises, more power to him if that is what he wants to do. Just be honorable.

AD5 you can appreciate this. One of my half backs in high school went on to head the Japanese car builder in Tennessee. He has since retired, but knowing a little bit about you, his name is Jerry Benefield.
