How many

Richt is now the dean of SEC coaches.
Longevity used to mean something, no more.
It has become a catch phrase for complacency.
Coaching tenures are driven by wins and losses and at, what I hope is an elite SEC level, Championships.
SEC Championships, which lately, have translated to National Championships.
I think Richt has had a couple of NC caliper teams but no championships.
Bad breaks are part of the game but so is intensity. My biggest gripe. Our kids sometimes get the big head and lose that intensity. I put that on the head coach.

averagedawg, I really hope that I have gotten the right impression from McGarity. If I have gotten the message that I think he sent, he will tighten the screws another round this coming season. There is not a doubt in my mind that our Athletic Director did not like the outcome of the Outback Bowl. For more than one reason. Any way that I slice the pie, I keep coming back to either mistakes or miscues in the recruiting process. I believe that if Friend has the talented players to coach, he will do his job and do it very well.

At this point in my way of thinking, if the offensive line is only thirty percent or so better than last season, this group of returning backs and receivers will be hard for most teams to stop. Still boils down to the young men that do the dirty work on every play, no time off on the line of scrimmage.

the O line for 2012 will be laden with talent but untested. No doubt Friend can coach em up. Takes time and real game experience for them to gel and become a unit. Mizzou will be a major test early on.....and they will need a confidence boost early on also......a 4th and 1 or 2 can be a major boost for this unit..and with the talent of our incoming RB's 4th and 1 or 2 should be a no brainer....but CMR/Bobo team will go for the FG and give them no confidence early on

hahaha No Thanks Buc. I don't mean to be so negative but until the coaches show me that they are playing to WIN I will continue to be critical

Maybe I am wrong ogredawg, don't take your posts to be critical. From my point of view, more in the constructive thinking department. Nothing wrong with each of us posting what we as individuals see. Not like we are going to some of the blogs and banging on others, we are putting personal thoughts out for those on this UGA board to agree or disagree with. Gets fiesty sometimes, but that usually takes care of itself in time.

Crossed fingers for Josh . . . . reminds me of Jake Scott from back in the day. He will have the fans in Sanford Stadium roaring when he begins playing on Saturdays. What a great help he could also be with the talent coming from your high school in the future and there is a lot of that residing year after year in Lowndes County. Getting closer Brother . . . . :)
