How many

Thriller, alot of what you say is true, but coaches teach players. To me when you make stupid mistakes 5 to 6 games into the season, you are not being taught. You are right about AM, I feel like he lost us the Fla game last year, the USC game this year, and the MSU game. I was a fan of AM, but now I have my doubts that he can win the big game. I am also upset with AM for sending in his draft status for the NFL, everyone felt that he would be a 4 year starter for us. Guess he is just like Stafford, playing for his NFL career and no longer a team player.

The only point I am tring to make is that this team does not know how to win the big game, we hove no signature wins against a top 20 team in over 2 years. You may be right, that a coach can not make players in games, but to have leads in every big games we have played in just to watch in slip away. I blame that on the coaches, one for offense and 2 for defense still not strong enough to tough it out for 4 quarters. We need more plays in the play book, we need more S&T more conditioning, we need players to buy into the system all year long, and not just in August.

As for me I love to win, and I was satisfied with the 8 wins, the 7 wins, but 2010 was a embarsement, and the bowl lose to UCF was the killer. I am not one of these fans that unless you win the championship every year the hell with you. Do I want a NC yes, should we have won one or two since 1980 yes. I think we have had the players that would have taken us to that level, but there again to me it is the coaches that fail to get us there.

thriller read your post several times, trying to be sure that I understand it in toto.

If our problem is coaching and the main problem is Bobo, how is it that we will improve this year. Looking at last seasons games, did not see anything that would lead me to believe that our formations or play calling have changed since Bobo was appointed offensive coordinator. Like you mention, neither you or I or anyone else can repair a broken leg without the skills to do so. Have to agree with ogredawg, show me the beef.

If we come into this season (2012) with the one coach that you, me and others want replaced, where is the improvement. . . . why does Mike Bobo get another year? Is it because you, me and others don't understand what is going on with UGA football? Does Mark Richt know something that we don't? Have Mark Richt and Mike Bobo not had enough time and TALENT (don't mean to shout) through all of the years that you mention in your post to show us more than we have seen? Are all of the problems of a 6-7 season or even a 10-4 season laying at the feet of the players? If that is the case, then I would submit this . . . Mark Richt and Mike Bobo might be the best recruiters on the planet, however it does not reflect well on their coaching abilities, especially when we look at the past few years.

Think that this might be a long and interesting thread, will step back and read, and maybe post. :)

duck, many times you and I are on the same page. Have one question for you about AM. Would you like to stand behind the same offensive line that he has for the past two years and play the position? That is plain and simply a football question. Would you like to be AM and have an offensive coordinator that has not changed his play calling since he was handed the job? Do you not think that Spurrier and other coaches don't have to study film on UGA. Nothing, not one thing has changed since Mark Richt and Mike Bobo became joined at the hip. I said that.

As always, Buc, you type up a GREAT response. But re-read my post. If we don't win the SEC this year, I'll call for Richt's job, and probably louder than anyone else here, because I DO want championships. On the other hand, Buc . . . if we do win the SEC and at least PLAY for the national championship, would you walk away pretty proud? Even if Bobo-head is still walking the sideline? That was my point. Not that I think we WILL win it all with our current OC in place. He must have some pretty embarrassing pictures of a LOT of UGA administrators in a safe deposit box somewhere.

By the way, since Richt's talent that he has available keeps getting mentioned, let me mention a few players we've had over the years NOT under CMR:

Tim Worley, Andre Hastings, Champ Bailey, Boss Bailey, Marcus Stroud, Richard Seymore, Charles Grant, Mo Lewis, Terrell Davis, Hines Ward (that's TWO Super Bowl MVPs on the list that were coached in the 1990's), Jermaine Phillips . . . I could go on and on, but I'm sure everyone will get the point . . . not one National Championship (or for that matter, even CONFERENCE championship) among that esteemed group?

Don't get me wrong, Buc, I will be singing VERY LOUDLY (not meaning to shout either . . . you know that), if he hangs on to Bobo-head and we don't win the conference. But we sure have gotten spoiled over the last 10 years haven't we? Because we sure didn't get spoiled very much over the previous 20.

Buc no I would not like to be the QB with our OL. The problem I have with AM is the fumbles and the throws for int that he should not have thrown. I give him a pass his first year, but he is a players, one that studies game films all the time. I guess I just blames him for the USC loss and for a few pick 6's that we lost or almost lost. I just don't really know, it seem like when the OL plays decent, AM does something stupid or gets hit and fumbles tring to make something happen. But no I sure would not like to play QB for us not even this year. Glad you are back my friend, depend on you and Wlayton to keep us all straight.

2007 was a bust for me, a terrible loss to an ordinary Tennessee team. We underperformed.
I am resigned to Richt being head coach but if we lose to Missouri I will be back on the whole gotta go thing.
No excuses this year. We swap a game with Alabama for a game with a midlevel Big 12 team, their place or not.
Our schedule isn't going to get any easier than this. I can totally see the observations about our easy schedule.
No excuses this year. NONE!
