Guess my first question is, why is Mike Bobo still wearing the offensive coordinator's hat? To answer you question thriller . . . . this is with tongue in cheek . . .

The single largest improvement that I have witnessed in UGA football in the past 3 or 4 years has been the hiring of a REAL FOOTBALL COACH. (Not shouting, trying to make a point)

As long as I have been around UGA football, I can bring up names like Stanfill, Scott and the list goes on and on. One of the points that I am trying to make is, never, ever, has there been a shortage of talent in Athens. We get the same excuses every decade and Alabama keeps winning National Championships. What is wrong with that picture? State lines? Florida, LSU. Could it be that we don't have the necessaries running our program to reach those heights? That is a question, not a statement.
thriller for more years than I like to think of, we have always had the same excuse . . . wait until next year. Whether you are for or against Adams as president, don't ever believe that he does not run the UGA program . . . . from top to bottom. Ask VD. Never could I be accused of being a VD supporter. That is for those that remember the National Championship that came because of one man.
Starting to get interesting . . . .

I am resigned to Richt being head coach but if we lose to Missouri I will be back on the whole gotta go thing.
No excuses this year. We swap a game with Alabama for a game with a midlevel Big 12 team, their place or not.
Our schedule isn't going to get any easier than this. I can totally see the observations about our easy schedule.
No excuses this year. NONE!
averagedawg, the 2007 loss to Tennessee brought me to my knees. What really hurt was Mark Richt beginning his excuses for his teammate at Miami. All anyone has to do is go back and look or maybe recall how it was explained to the Red and Black faithful. We did not understand the game, which later bacame his battle cry. . . .until it almost cost him his job. We have friends and we have coaching decisions that have to be made. Guess Mark Richt made that decision. Sure pp'd Willie off, refused to participate in the bowl game.
Did notice that Martinez is the first person fired/released from Oklahoma in all of the present head coaches tenure. Eleven years or so. Some head coaches catch on quicker than others. Some head coaches play for National Championships. Some like to hear how they have won an average of 10 or 11 games a year. Keep your eyes open McGarity. There have been some changes made . . . are you finished? Just asking.

I absolutely love the fact that we have signed some running backs this year that all of us hope are very, very good.
If we don't have the folks that open and close holes on the line of scrimmage, simple fact, we lose. duck, give me one example of a running game against a quality opponent since AM started calling the signals where UGA has been all that. I am not being ugly, we post here because we think we have something to say that might ease all of our pains.
One more thingy . . . . who will be the starting offensive linemen in 2012? Name 1, 2, or 3. UGA should never be in this position. This is why Saban wins, understands backs are good when the offensive line is good.
Just a thought duck.

growl wrote: Its been said by many men better and more intelligent than me that winning is an attitude. I believe that with all my heart. UGA has missplaced the swagger I became accustomed to years ago and replaced it with cheap,High School cheerleader tricks, such as celebrating a touchdown by emptying the benchs and acting like a bunch of pre-schoolers in the end zone, or wearing the most God awful ugly uniforms in the universe(Nike) for advertisement, just to name two. That BS is Okay somewhere else. Those two incidents embarrassed me more than anything else we've done. Fans have to have a winning attitude also. I'm not happy with 10 wins without a winning attitude from my team, a great attitude makes up for a lot. CMR has to find a way to get an attitude and get to the next level with all this talent.

How many different head coaches have won national championships over the past 10 years, and therefore (in my stupid opinion) have the right to call themselves championship caliber coaches? UM had two. Saban had 2. This is something else I haven't researched, but there are 4 national championships right there. My point is that the membership is SMALL. Which proven entity are we hoping to hire prior to the G-Day game?
Ditch Richt, and we might hire the next Nick Saban-in-waiting. Or we might hire the next Ray Goff. I still remember the excitement I had when we hired him and he coached us to a win over Michigan State. I still remember all the years of LESS than mediocrity that followed.
Here is what scares the you-know-what out of me. Georgia may not have what it takes to win NCs. I said that. We may be delusional. To your point, Buc, look how many the other schools have and compare. It may have NOTHING to do with HCs and OCs and players. Maybe it has to do with Athens. Blasphemy, I know . . . but what if?
