TONS of analysis, criticism, etc. to be taken away from this one...it could take me days...LITERALLY DAYS...to write down everything I want to say. What I'll say instead is this. Neither coaching staff called a brilliant game...that's less a shot at the staffs and more a testament to the difficulty of game-planning against the #3 and #5 defenses in the country.

Coaching may not have done us any favors, but you can only ask that coaches give players the opportunity to win the game. Our players had several chances to put this game away and they didn't. If it was only about the coaching, then opposing coaching staffs would bring their gameplans to the stadium on Saturdays, decide which one was the better plan, and that coaching staff would be given the win for that week. Instead of that, we actually field teams and ask that the players that make up the teams execute the plans.

Bottom-line, MSU executed when they had to, we didn't.

I don't know of a coach that could come in and take us to a national title either. I will tell you it will not be CMR, we could have the best players in college football, every no 1 pick and we still would not win the NT. You think about it, look at all the talent we have had, we just do not have anybody to teach these kids how to play. I think we have recruited us a good as Ala, LSU, Auburn, and they have all won NT with fairly new coaches. CMR has been here 11 years and we can close to playing for the NT in 07 if it were not for politics. I know I harp on USC alot, but I am just impressed with what Spurrier has done, and I truely believe that he will play for a NT before CMR will at UGA. I also believe that with the talent we have had over the past 7 years, that the Spurrier was our coach, we would have won 2 NT. I can't stand the man, but he is a good coach and gets 2nd class players to give 110%.

Good post Honcho. Duck, I am willing to bet SS never wins another NC. Definitely wouldn't say he still has 2nd class players. I do agree, he is a great coach. Not going to say much more. His offenses have not been very good sense he has been at usc. He has had plenty of time to make his offense better, but for the most part he has leaned on his defense. SS offenses have been mediocre at best.

Gundy is about as realistic of a hire as Saban, or Miles. Don't want to get in a pissing contest with Pickens. You are not going to outbid him. Not to mention Gundy played at OSU. He is never leaving.

We had a chance to win the game in OT, but we were content to settle for a 40+ yard field
goal with a kicker who had demonstrated time and time again this season that he was just as likely to hit whatever was to the right of the goal posts as much as he did putting it through the uprights. Would at least attempting to get that FG down to lets say 30 or so
yards have been putting our players in a better position to execute? Did we even make
an attempt to do that?

Want to know what Walsh's stats were this year on 40+yard field goals?

I'll share them: 5 out of 12

That's 42%

Want to know his stats for FG under 40 yards?

10 out of 14. That's 72%

We willingly opted for a 30% lower chance of success. Willingly chose that, our coaches
did.

God Bless and Go Dawgs
