BUT let me remind everyone that it wasn't offensive playcalling on our part that wasted the best drive we had to go up by 7 and then give it away at the end of regulation...

Expound on that a bit if you will . . . :)

Honestly Buc, I'm hesitant to even respond. Not because I don't want to answer, but because I know whatever I say will get spun around by others and some will say "but if Jarvis wasn't hurt, or if Jenkins wasn't hurt, or if the offense hadn't gone 3 and out and would've given the D a breather..."

If you can't tell by a lot of my posts, I tend to see things pretty black and white...grey area just adds to confusion. Up until the last 19 seconds of the game, we had a 7 point lead. The job of the defense is to keep the other team from scoring...our defense didn't do that. Bottom-line, MSU executed when they had to, we didn't. That was my only point.

Actually Mike in the 4th qt. MSU took the lead 20 to 19 with alittle over 8 mins. to go in the game.

But AM threw a TD to Boykin to take the lead back just under 7 mins. to go.

Mike Honcho. I agree with the black and white.
We will Never get to the next level with Mark Richt.
Never. If I am wrong, I will be the first to admit it.

Mike, does not matter what others have to say, think that we have been open in our posts. I get a bit fed up when folks play around the edges. I say openly what I think, can't speak for others and don't worry about what others have to say. Only two things can happen . . . . agree or disagree.

Mike that works two ways. There are many on this board that don't always agree. Reading your post above sounds like you are making the opposition's (guess we can use that word) basis for a debate. Also tells me that you are playing point and counter point. Nothing wrong with that, until one cannot defend ones position.

This is where I am at with this back and forth between you and I and others that want to join in. If you think Richt should stay, express your views. Hoping that we are not talking about one game, this goes a bit deeper considering what I have to say. All of us, or most of us on this board care about the same PRODUCT. UGA Football. All any of us can do is express our views. If our views hit a nerve and some get ugly, Steve will handle that.

Please don't be like some that use the "one liners" when trying to be cute, or trying to get folks to side with them. Many on this board have moved past those that think they are in control. This board is open for all to participate, and I do that probably more than anyone here.

You and I both know that this board is loaded with "serious" UGA football folks.

I will open with this.

Richt is not my choice (any more) to be the leader of the UGA Football Team. He has had 11 years or so to sink to the level of playing in bowls that do not make sense to me. If Richt had been playing with inferior talent, that would be understandable and appreciated. Facts show that UGA for the past 10 or 11 years rates in the top five when we discuss talent. What is the reason for our decline? I ask that question because I truly believe it is a lack of leadership. So, I drop the first reason for my departure from Richt. Guess the saying goes something like this . . . ball is in your court. Remember this, not discussing one game, talking about the overall stance of our program. Look forward to your feelings. :)

I'll say one thing first, and one thing extremely clearly. I'm not playing anything...I don't play games, whether it's in the most important aspects of my life, or in a conversation on a computer. My feelings haven't changed from a few weeks ago...and I spelled it out then. The decline in the program (in my opinion) came from two things; Damon Evans and Willie Martinez. Prior to those two being involved we were on the right track. I'd say we've had CONSIDERABLE upgrades at both the AD and D-coordinator spots since then.

In the same post I reference above I mentioned that I feel like, as long as he has a "fiery" counterpart (aka, Grantham) then Richt is exactly what this team needs. I stand by that now and will continue to stand by that, but will make one caveat. If Richt isn't willing to let Bobo go, relieve him of his playcalling duties, or at least let McGarity make the executive decision then unfortunately he needs to be the bathwater that goes out with Bobo's proverbial baby.

Like I said before Buc, I look at things in black and white. Until someone on this board becomes a current player or coach for UGA, EVERYTHING we discuss is nothing more than speculation. Granted, it's a blast and I look forward to discussing things with every single person on this board for a long time, but NO ONE on this board knows every circumstance behind every call that is made in any given game...period. That being said, with the right pieces surrounding him, I will continue to back Mark Richt as our coach.

Want someone on this board that is a Richt backer explain to me why he should remain as head coach at UGA. If you are going to come with fluff, then we cannot have a conversation. Come prepared to lay the facts out, from his first game until now. It can be fun, or nasty, don't really care.

Buc, no one that has any football knowledge can back Richt as being the head coach at UGA. Any attempt to do so will expose the fact that they are nothing more than a cheerleader.

I will say it again, Mark Richt won't change so UGA must make a change.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !
