Win or Lose - Our Head Coach and OC Suck.

Was it my imagination or was CMR hamming it up and shaking hands with one of the MS defensive players while the game was still being played?

Not your imagination at all.

100% accurate. He was hamming it up with the MS defensive player when their coach challenged
the reception ruling that ended up putting a few important seconds back on the clock.

Delayed routes in the middle of the field was good, hence boykin. That is how you hit a cover 2 in the middle. Or, you hit them down the sideline, which we did quite often. I mean TK did set a record.

I am sorry, I just can't blame that play on anyone else. The coaches called a play that AM could have looked like a superstar on. He had a great opportunity to succeed, and he didn't. Could care less if the ball got tipped. Should have never been going there in the first place. Watched, but still looked like the kid was making a play on it before it ever left AM's hands.

Now what do you think happens if AM makes the right read, and we score on that play, or hit a big gain? Could have been 23-8 after that play, instead it is 16-14. You take being up 2 scores to being up a 2 pt conversion. That is huge. Totally huge.

I care that the ball got tipped... because I don't know if it was a pick 6 without
that happening. Yes, it was still a bad read and the ball shouldn't have been going
there, but I'm not blaming the loss on that one play regardless. There was still a
lot of football to be played after that happened, and we were still winning after
it happened.

AD5, I respect your opinion in all of this.. I agree Murray made a bad read and I'll
grant you that bad read on that play was all on him. I can still easily say though
that our QB is an all SEC performer.. tops in the league.

I can't say that about our OC.

As a matter of fact, with the talent he has to work with...
I would say he is just terrible. Sure many other teams don't have out scoring ability, but
they also have much less to work with than Mike Bobo. CMR is great at bringing enough
talent here that we can score well enough on just about anyone just based on athletic
talent alone. Have it come down to a game where offensive coaching is going to be the difference though, and Bobo is severely lacking. My problem with CMR is he puts up
with it.

Ask me a 100 times if I think we need a better QB or a better OC, and you're going to
get the same answer 100 times. It wasn't AM calling the plays that saw our RB's
trying to run it up the middle for the upteenth time. It wasn't AM that didn't include
Orson Charles in the game plan. It wasn't AM that was content to let horrible Walsh attempt to win it on 42 yard plus FG attempts without much of an attempt to get the ball just a little closer. All of that stuff was 100% coaching.

From everything I read in this thread, appears that we need a new set of coaches on the offensive side of the ball, Richt, Bobo and Friend, guess our running back coach should join them.

Sit AM next season, will be better backing up the young stud from North Carolina, Christian LeMay, that has come along so well in practice this season. Figure we lose Hutson.

Bringing in another kicker from South Florida, maybe that is a mistake also. Walsh set point records, he however lost any chance of playing football in the NFL with his choking this season. In Walsh's defence . . . remember that a prior coach messed with his kicking method and that is when the doubt began to enter his head. That was the time for Richt to step in and LEAD. They don't give many second, third, and fourth chances in the NFL.

duck has it right. kentdaddy has had it right for years.

Appears to me that another of "Saban's" pupils knows how to coach winning football. MSU coach had their team fired up and ready to play. They did not . . . . GIVE UP in the SECOND HALF. If you dvr'd the game, go back and take a long hard look at the two sidelines.

Probably what will happen now is this . . . . Richt gets pay raise for ten wins, contract extension, disregard the losses to teams that are above average. Bobo stays and "silently" gets a boost in the pocket. Suppose that will give all of us something to squawk about next season. Those of us that think changes should be made this season and next season, we will point out what is being said here and has been said here for far too long.

As one poster said here, that was a terrible mistake, or at least a mistake that AM made on the interception. What really amazes me is the multiple mistakes that Richt/Bobo have made over several years and . . . we continue to have them return year after year.

Some also have said in this thread that Coach Grantham messed up. OK, if you buy that, I will add this . . . . If Coach Grantham had not been hired, do you think we would have been in the Outback Bowl had it not been for his hiring . . . . Do you also think that Bobo's offensive prowess will equal or better what Grantham does on defense next season. If the defense had not played lights out for many of our games this season, 6-7 would look like a MNC at this point.

Time for a real look at what needs to be done. We have a leader (I personally think) as Athletic Director. After that, leadership for the UGA football team falls on one persons shoulders. Richt, good fifth choice for defensive coordinator. Probably saved your job. Better than your first choice for offensive coordinator. Bobo will probably cost you your job. Totally against raises for anyone on this team . . . . 6-7 . . . 10-4, see if we can beat a ranked team next season.
