Only problem I have with the coaches, is continuing to give the same kids chances. If they cannot learn from their mistakes, park their arses on the bench.

Maybe you're right about Friend, but it's not just size I'm talking about...
TE on the line is a true NFL prospect. He also blocks..part of the position. LT will be one of the top linemen picked in the NFL draft. Center.. people were incensed he wasn't first team All American. Now let's look at our RT.. Mr. Justin Anderson:
"Fast-forward to Monday’s Outback Bowl game against Michigan State, Anderson will start his 14th game at right tackle. Beyond that, he’s expected to continue his career in the NFL.
“He plays hard every week. He practices hard. He’s been a joy to coach,” Friend said of the player friends and family call “Bean.”He’s a dang good football player."
All that, and our O-line was still terrible. NFL prospects at both tackle spots, including
one named Anderson, not Glenn, that Friend is quoted as saying is "a dang good football player".
I'll admit I might be throwing the baby out with the rancid bath water regarding Friend,
but something is dreadfully wrong. What I am getting at here is Friend may be the best
thing since sliced bread, but will it ever mean anything with Bobo driving the bus?

I guess it's kinda hard for me to understand how you agree with one and not the other. Both are playing not to lose, and both are telling your offensive players "I have no faith that you can win this game, so I'm going to puss out and hope for the best".
Well, that's what happens. You lose. More often than not, playing not to lose causes you to lose. No killer instinct or desire to try to win games from the coaching staff will doom us to the 2nd tier of the SEC for years to come.
Time on the clock makes a big difference.
It's one thing to do something in overtime with no time constraints and you can run, pass
short or long, and the whole play book is open to you compared to trying to move it
30-40+ yards with seconds remaining and the D pretty much knows you have to try and
get the ball way down field.

AllDawgs5 wrote: I am pissed about what happened. We should have never lost the game, but comparing this loss to last year's isn't even close IMHO. MSU was a very good football team. CMR gave the boys up front a chance early, it made no difference. Man vs man. All coaching out of it, and MSU stuffed it. Ripped the coaches as bad as any. I cannot understand why we continued to try to run the football up the middle. I can't. I also can't understand how we cant cover the middle of the field, or how the same ole routes are eating us alive. I can't understand how Murray hasn't learned how his turnovers can just crush a team. Especially when the other team is constantly scoring points off of them.
Can constantly blame coaching if we want, but weird how others have been successful under the coaches? Wonder what read David Green would have made? Wonder what happens if we don't throw that one football to the flat. Funny how one play can change a game. And to think it would come on the easiest read passing play there is, with a corner that never took one step back. No bluff or anything. I truly just can't get over that throw. Corner squats, throw it deep. I can only imagine how many times a coach as said that. I am still just totally dumbfounded by that throw. Imagine if we make the right read there, and hit the vertical down the sideline for a td. Wonder what happens then? This is where is comes to players making plays.
Been times where I have just wanted a total overhaul of all our coaches. Now, is oddly enough not one of them. Call me a sunshine pumper all you want. Guess I just figure each man has a job to do. It about time some of our boys started maning up. Only problem I have with the coaches, is continuing to give the same kids chances. If they cannot learn from their mistakes, park their arses on the bench.
