If I take being a fan out of the equation and just look at it from an analytical stand-point, I'd say being in the top 5 in the SEC of LITERALLY every major offensive category is a pretty good accomplishment.

Let the bashing begin...

well.........I would not consider any1 rookies anymore not after playing 13 games....not going to blame it on inexperience......what are we going to blame it on next year......our inexperienced O line because they will have virtually NO GAME experience.......

Trinton Sturdivant's knee, attrition to the NFL, and sissyfied linemen who had to transfer because they weren't man enough to deal with the new S&T program.

Who recruited the sissyfied linemen? Why do Alabama and LSU play two or three deep on the DL and OL? Injuries happen. Depth is just that, depth.

Apparently Stacy Searels did, but we don't have to worry about that anymore, do we?

Yeah, Just like on the job. Blame it on the guy who left. I don't want to beat a dead horse but Nick Saban knows every thing about every recruit. As for Searels, I know for a fact because I know someone who asked him the difference between working for Saban and Richt was. He was reluctant to answer but his wife had no qualms saying, Saban is much more demanding. I don't expect Richt to micromanage. I do expect him to demand the best from coaches, players, staff. He doesn't have a demanding personality.

Don't think there needs to be any bashing, unless you are looking for that.

Go back to your post and maybe ask youself this question . . . . why are we so dependent on playing first timers at the positions you speak of. Should we not have planned for that during the recruiting process more than a year or two back. Yes, everyone has injuries, however some have better plans than others.

If I am the head coach or the offensive coordinator, my job is larger than trying to get the best back or wide receiver. The wins and losses start in the offensive and defensive lines. You don't protect, you take a knee. Sound familiar . . . .

Mark Richt put out the call for a running back, risking NCAA problems . . . . did he not just sign one of the best this past year according to the talking heads, think so. No crystal balls, but if we ever expect to be "all that" better do as Coach Grantham suggested, give me someone to play the nose. That seemed to work out for the D side. Deployment saved our country from bad things many years ago because "some" of the leaders had a plan.

I enjoy posting with you, one of the reasons, you go past one line statements that don't move the cursor one way or the other.

Buc, Alabama recruited Crowell. No promises made, none given. You work your way into a system.
You are dead on, result oriented planning.
As we say on the job, "No one monkey ever stopped a show."

averagedawg, I believe this to be the truth . . . Saban will pass over a running back or wide receiver for those that I call "skill" football players. Where the football games start and end.

Will say this, Smart and Saban wanted Mitchell real bad, that was a serious coup for UGA. As Jon Gruden said prior to and during the Outback Football Game, "this kid is special". Maybe we get some folks on the line that can protect and Mitchell will be impossible to cover.

We are faced with another recruiting battle with ogredawg's home boy. Winning that battle will definitely mean a lot to us. Can watch him play this weekend.
