“Down 16-0 at halftime, I had my doubts because I knew how good their defense was,” said Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins said. “We were having a hard time finding openings, and I felt, ‘Boy, I don’t know if we can score 16 points to get back in this game.’ ”

Alldawg: good points. But how many TIMES have we seen the same thing? It was coaching that told AM to take a 2 yard loss in OT in order to get the ball back in the middle of the field.

it was coaching that decided to run the same little delay handoff to the left that never got anything.

It was coaching that ran up the gut on 3rd and 9 at the end of the game that allowed MSU to get the ball.

That is coaching. As far as the defense goes, they played very well. They played well against SC but we know how that went.

Bottom line is we all know that we will have the same issues at some point next year when we are on the verge of a big win. You know and I know that if it's a big game and the other team is taleneted, our OC and Head Coach will be the one to make the huge stupid mistake-not the other team's coaches.

Is there anyone here who really believes that if a game is tied 5 minutes left in the SEC championship game next year that CMR/Bobo will have an opportunity to win it, yet they will blow it?

Finally another voice of reason.

To add to that - Last I checked Wins/losses/quality of play are the responsilbilty of the Head Coach

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

This might be the most factually written article I have read concerning the game. Reporter did a good job laying out what actually happened from beginning to end. Hard to find media folks that stay on point.

Would also say that if one reads the entire article, word for word, it is a good point and counter-point conversation piece. Appears to me that the article has balance, that sometimes (often) is not the case. After reading the article one can be on either side of what is being discussed here and be in a 50/50 stalemate.

We all know what the first half of this game looked like, and we all know how well we played the first half in the SECCG, what I'd like to know is what was said or did at halftime to cause such a drastic difference. The same people played in the second halves as played in the first half, the same coaches were on the field the whole time, what changed.

Seen a lot of football. I don't even care what Cousins had to say. MSU was helpless until we gave them hope. I think anyone would agree on that. Just not seeing howing we are blaming the coaching for this one. And then, we are only blaming one side of the coaching when our defense had a chance to stop a pathetic offense that had to go 85yds with no timeouts. Too comical. And who wears the blinders.

I can tell you what was done in the second halves, Turnovers. Don't tell me it was something schemed. The corner didn't fake sinking, he gave no false look. We just threw it right to him. We had a chance to seal the game, and didn't. As far as running the football, why do you think Saban wanted to continue to try to run the football against LSU? Or why any team tries to continue to establish a running game. As a coach, you believe that eventually you are going to break through. And that is how the running game happens. You chip away, and eventually you might hit the big one. And, you might not. Doesn't mean you can abort the running game. I saw AM doing a lot of checking on running plays. Don't know what the check read was, but I saw a lot of it.

To answer your question, yes, I do think CMR and Bobo would give us a chance in a tie game. I believe we were down by 1 and marched right down the field. They answered the bell call. Running the ball on 3rd and 9 to make a team burn all their timeouts is a no brainer. It would be one thing if they had an explosive offense, but they didn't. The defense had their chance to answer the bell and didn't on that particular instance.
