I say yes...the two biggest question marks on the 2012 schedule are South Carolina and Alabama. South Carolina's bringing back Lattimore and a lot of components of a very good D, but that D's coming back without Ellis Johnson. At this point he scares me more than the visor.
Add that to the fact that Alabama will probably fall off our schedule to make way for Mizzou and it looks even more favorable. Go undefeated, get to the SEC Championship again we'll probably see Alabama or LSU. In my mind, the first half of the LSU game proved to me that if we capitalize on our opportunities (i.e., don't drop the football) and eliminate turnovers, we can beat any team out of the West. If we make it out of our conference undefeated and with the SEC Championship under our belt, the NC picture will take care of itself.
I'm surprised to hear anyone say they think Richt is satisfied with winning anything less than the NC. I promise you there's not a coach in the country that wants one worse than him. He may not wear it on his sleeve, but I assure you he's the most competitive person involved with the UGA program. He idolizes Bobby Bowden...just like Tiger chasing Jack Nicklaus, every athlete wants to outdo their idol. Trust me, he wants to retire with more NC's than the two Bowden retired with. Richt isn't satisfied with just winning the East or just winning the SEC. He realizes that in order to even make it to the NC game, or at least to take it out of the hands of the "ESPN politico's" you first have to win your division and then your conference.
Now on a second thought I personally would like to see CTG as HC or even hire Mike Gundy as HC and give CTG big bucks to stay on as Asst. HC/DC.....would be one hell of a team.....
