Can Richt Win it all.

I have been saying the last 3 years UGA will never win NC with as Richt as head coach - been bashed by everybody but Buc that says I put too my blame on Richt.

Richt lacks killer instinct, inability to teach/coach players up to their potential, rarely has a Richt team put a solid all around game together. Something is always going wrong, stupid penalties, poor special teams, lack of depth. Questionable play calling with or without proper personell on the field.

With Richts "prostyle offense" we need OL that can block and big 210 lb plus running backs that can block and take SEC abuse. I like Carlton Thomas effort but why do we have a 175 lb running back on scholarship ? Harmon has heart but would that scholarship have been better served elsewhere?

With UGA talent they should be able to win 10 games a year or so but u guys drinking kool-aide on that island may be there for a while if you are waiting on a National Championship. Although replacing Bobo would be a big step in the right direction.

Doesn't mean I love UGA any more or less than any of you... I just tend to be very realistic. Would love to be wrong on this one, trust me.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Slay the Spartans !

I agree that players want to come because a certain coach or coaches are there.....but a lot of players come because they want to be a Bulldawg a GEORGIA BULLDAWG......give me those guys instead of the over hyped 5 stars any day......as for Marshall he was a Dawg from way back has been stated that UGA has and was always been at the top of his list.....just an opinion weather he would of came here or not if CMR was not here......

I think a competent OC is part of his staff needed around him, and he DOESN'T have that.

I don't think they should extend it at all.....

You do realize the ONLY reason we got Marshall was because he was assured Richt would be the coach throughout his time in Athens, right? You also realize, the ONLY reason we don't have several other commitments already is because players were waiting for the season to play out and make sure Richt would still be the coach before deciding, right?

I'm fine with not giving a raise, but not extending his contract would kill recruiting for at least the next two years and would be the beginning of the end for what is shaping up to be a hell of a coaching staff. Grantham, Friend, Garner, etc...at some point they all leave if they're not assured the coach who hired them will still be there.

ok better yet I say we get rid of him now and give the HC job to CTG how's that.....we have had GREAT players come here no matter who the coach is......we got great players now, we had great players last year and the year before that......changes have to be made on the offensive side of the ball and CMR will not do that until forced to.....just like WM......got to bite the bullet sometime and as long as Bobo is the OC I don't care how good you recruit..... ok be happy to get great players and play in the Cap One Bowl or Outback Bowl every year or worse......

Good call...Grantham's track record as a head coach is...oh, wait...

By the way, we had a patchwork o-line, a rash of injuries in the backfield, a 4-game stretch without our playmaker at wide receiver, two first-time starters at fullback and yet we still got 10 wins, won the East, and made it to the SEC Championshp game. Oh, and we did all that while being in the top 4 in the SEC in every major offensive category. What a terrible job of coaching...

I said when I first joined this forum that I believed that HCMR would win an MNC. I still believe in him, but not as strongly now as I did in 2007.

The defense appears to have turned the corner. The offense should be very good next year with an upperclassman with 2 years of experience at quarterback.
