Don't think he will until he gets a competent OC and don't see that happening anytime soon

I don't think he can win the NC, he is a nice guy, but he is not a leader and he would have to make changes to the OC. We will never win against the top schools with BOBO as the OC. I think we are set with some of the other coachs, TG, Frend, ect.

I think we can win the east each year, but to play Ala, LSU ect in the Championship game, that would be as far as we'd go. I think even if we had 10 all all americans on our team we still would not win, it taks a coach that wants to win it all. I think we have a coach that is just satisfied with winning the east and win 8 to 10 games.

duck, I don't think anybody can win it all at UGA as long as Herbstreet and May are at ESPN doing their politicking on who goes, unless the DAWGS go undefeated and win every game by a large margin. Remember 4 years ago, the Dawgs were the hottest team in the country the last half of the season, and they both said "you can't go if you don't win your conference." Now they are saying just the opposite, because they want 'Bama in the game. If UGA makes a case for going in the next ear or two, they will find a reason to talk against us going.
Anyway, as I have asked other people before, who could we hire that could guarantee an MNC during their tenure? That is what some of you seem to be demanding, and there is nobody out there that UGA could hire that can do that. Our best shot is still with Richt, but I qualify that with what I stated at the start of this post. (I too wish Bobo would stop getting away from what has been working to try another method of attack, such as when he calls runs up the gut with 170 pound tailbacks. Hopefully someone close to the program will have enough guts to point that out to Richt and Bobo. )

To me this is a bit of a "if a tree falls in the woods..." type of question. I think a better question is, "can Richt's team go undefeated next year?" I say yes...the two biggest question marks on the 2012 schedule are South Carolina and Alabama. South Carolina's bringing back Lattimore and a lot of components of a very good D, but that D's coming back without Ellis Johnson. At this point he scares me more than the visor.

Add that to the fact that Alabama will probably fall off our schedule to make way for Mizzou and it looks even more favorable. Go undefeated, get to the SEC Championship again we'll probably see Alabama or LSU. In my mind, the first half of the LSU game proved to me that if we capitalize on our opportunities (i.e., don't drop the football) and eliminate turnovers, we can beat any team out of the West. If we make it out of our conference undefeated and with the SEC Championship under our belt, the NC picture will take care of itself.

I'm surprised to hear anyone say they think Richt is satisfied with winning anything less than the NC. I promise you there's not a coach in the country that wants one worse than him. He may not wear it on his sleeve, but I assure you he's the most competitive person involved with the UGA program. He idolizes Bobby Bowden...just like Tiger chasing Jack Nicklaus, every athlete wants to outdo their idol. Trust me, he wants to retire with more NC's than the two Bowden retired with. Richt isn't satisfied with just winning the East or just winning the SEC. He realizes that in order to even make it to the NC game, or at least to take it out of the hands of the "ESPN politico's" you first have to win your division and then your conference.

Have to agree. I feel the defensive side of the ball is in order, we just need a more aggressive OC. CMR should let each coordinator run their programs and only intervene when the train is running off the track. My opinion.
