I don't think they should extend it at all.....

You do realize the ONLY reason we got Marshall was because he was assured Richt would be the coach throughout his time in Athens, right? You also realize, the ONLY reason we don't have several other commitments already is because players were waiting for the season to play out and make sure Richt would still be the coach before deciding, right?

I'm fine with not giving a raise, but not extending his contract would kill recruiting for at least the next two years and would be the beginning of the end for what is shaping up to be a hell of a coaching staff. Grantham, Friend, Garner, etc...at some point they all leave if they're not assured the coach who hired them will still be there.

ok better yet I say we get rid of him now and give the HC job to CTG how's that.....we have had GREAT players come here no matter who the coach is......we got great players now, we had great players last year and the year before that......changes have to be made on the offensive side of the ball and CMR will not do that until forced to.....just like WM......got to bite the bullet sometime and as long as Bobo is the OC I don't care how good you recruit..... ok be happy to get great players and play in the Cap One Bowl or Outback Bowl every year or worse......

Good call...Grantham's track record as a head coach is...oh, wait...

By the way, we had a patchwork o-line, a rash of injuries in the backfield, a 4-game stretch without our playmaker at wide receiver, two first-time starters at fullback and yet we still got 10 wins, won the East, and made it to the SEC Championshp game. Oh, and we did all that while being in the top 4 in the SEC in every major offensive category. What a terrible job of coaching...

and our signature win was against who this year.......GEORGIA TECH.....we got 10 wins because we played a mediocre schedule......we were in the top 4 in every offensive catagory because our D put us in situation where we had a very short field to work with.......it took us 2 count them TWO 4th down plays to beat the gaytors after our D gave us a short field both times.........we were the fourth best offensive team in the league which means 4th best equals second tier......yeah offensive power house we are......thanks to our D......like I said be happy being second tier and going to the Cap One every year or worse.....CMR is not going to get rid of Bobo anytime soon.....

Right, and if LSU and Alabama had players who came because the wanted to be an all caps tiger or crimson tide instead of those over-hyped 5 stars who came to play for the respective head coaches, they'd still be playing for the NC, right? I hope you're picking up on the dripping sarcasm here...trust me, I'm just as big of a die-hard bulldawg as anyone, but you're not being realistic in what you're saying.

And it's not just opinion on Marshall...like Michael Bennett grew up a fan of Michigan State, Marshall grew up a fan of Georgia. He always hoped it would work out for him to be in Athens, but he never committed, internally or externally, to Georgia until Richt left Atlanta the night of the SEC Championship and showed up in his living room the next morning to assure him he'd still be there.

Afternoon,

Unless my math is in error come the 10th of January the SEC will have won six NC's in a row

No other team but the six SEC teams and coaches have won a NC's during that time frame.

This includes CMR and all the other coaches who compete to play in the NC game.

If hiring a new OC or HC would clinch a NC why then are there more HC and OC's that keep there jobs than lose them each season ?

Buc and I chewed on this earlier,it takes many moving parts for a college team to compete for the NC. One of those is luck.

How many years before Cheesezik wins another NC at AU ?

OK -agree it depends on when another CN comes available on the market for sale

IMO - Mac has turned CMR back around and is headed in the right direction. Buc and I agree that it all starts with the HC and the choices he makes, players and coaches both.

The same CMR that hired CTG,CKO,CML and CWF.

Those who harp that CMR was not a risk taker have not showed up since the two fourth down TD's in the UF game. Balance fault and favor!

Kool-Aide drinkers and island people understand that the progress was made this season.

A very large number of people questioned if Patton could win in Europe.
