Dawg with style, I am the one that said he is satisfied with 8 or 9 wins. How do you explain what has transpired over the past 4 years, we go from preseason no 1 to win 10 games, then each year we lose more and more until last year we go 6/7. It was not until he was on the so called hot seat that he saw that UGA would not accept this 8 or so win seasons anymore. He knew if he did not turn things around this year and start coaching as he is paid to do, the he would be fired. I may be wrong, and each of us are entitled to our opinion, but say if we won 8 games last year, things would have gone own as the past 4 years, us winning 8 or 9 games going to a bowl ect. I beleive CMR is a fine man, but I honestly do not think his heart is in coaching. His purpose in life is to be a missionary and travel with is wife (now a Nurse) around the world helping others. This is just my opinion, I do not know this to be true, just a feeling I have, and from the way the UGA program as gone down hill over the past 4 years.

We have had good if not great recruits, but they we not coached, they were not used per their talents. The only reason we got CTG was the CMR was forced to fire WM, if UGA fans did not get tired of the push over D, the WM would still be here. CMR did not care about winning, he was forced to make a move. So I stand by my statement, the CMR will never win it all. To be a sucessful coach, you have to have some firmness and some strick guidelines. You can't let your players stay out all hours of the night, you much instill dicipline a some point. I think CMR is to easy on his players, and they don't really respect him.

You do realize the ONLY reason we got Marshall was because he was assured Richt would be the coach throughout his time in Athens, right? You also realize, the ONLY reason we don't have several other commitments already is because players were waiting for the season to play out and make sure Richt would still be the coach before deciding, right?

I'm fine with not giving a raise, but not extending his contract would kill recruiting for at least the next two years and would be the beginning of the end for what is shaping up to be a hell of a coaching staff. Grantham, Friend, Garner, etc...at some point they all leave if they're not assured the coach who hired them will still be there.

ok better yet I say we get rid of him now and give the HC job to CTG how's that.....we have had GREAT players come here no matter who the coach is......we got great players now, we had great players last year and the year before that......changes have to be made on the offensive side of the ball and CMR will not do that until forced to.....just like WM......got to bite the bullet sometime and as long as Bobo is the OC I don't care how good you recruit..... ok be happy to get great players and play in the Cap One Bowl or Outback Bowl every year or worse......

Not everyone agrees, but Vince Dooley is widely considered the best head coach (note I said HEAD coach) in UGA football history...He coached for 25 years and won a total of 201 games. His overall winning percentage; 72%

Mark Richt has been our head coach for 11 years and has won a total of 106 games. His overall winning percentage; 75%

Three coaches in UGA football history have reached 100 wins; Dooley, Richt, and Wally Butts. Of the three, Richt got there the fastest.

Now that he has the staff needed around him, I can only hope we're stuck with Richt for the next 20 years.
