"Richt, you fired martines and got yourself a D that rivals some of the best in todays college football, why not do the same with the offensive?"

Probably because of one thing..

He might have had to give him the bad news but Bulldog Nation fired WMartinez, not CMR. I'll go ahead
and give him credit for the Grantham hire, but he was all but forced at gun point to do something
with WM.

Much like what will probably have to happen with Bobo.

What is the best outcome for the University of Georgia...Reunite under Richt or Rebuild under Coach TBD?

Like I said to begin, I don't have the answer to my own question but in my state of confusion I'm taking the simple approach of ROOT LIKE HELL FOR COACH RICHT because the way I see it, I'll have plenty of time & energy to root like hell for Coach TBD when the time comes!

I have started, erased, and restarted this post several times. Hopefully, this will be the last.

Like Goosedawg78 and everybody else on this board, I will support whoever is leading the Bulldog Nation until I feel that someone else needs to. We have been asked a very thought provoking question. Stay the course, or choose another route. The million $$ question is "the grass greener on the other side of the hill?"

What outcome are we looking for? Most would say to be competitive, to win SEC, to win NC, and to see improvement. Can we reach some of these goals? Right now I can say yes. We are tied for SEC east with big games to play. Let's see them out and then look at what we need to do. We will obviously not be in contention for NC with at least two losses. So if that is your goal let's fire CMR right now. When we win the SEC east but loose the SEC championship, is that progress? We have lofty goals which is good. Let's live in today though.

My thoughts are still out which direction we should go. I would like to keep CMR as HC, but I am not sure he can take the program WHERE I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT. I hope he can. Only time will tell. I can make a few suggestions, but that is easy for me to do sitting in the bleachers.

Most of this is just rambling because that is a tough question for me to answer. A lot of things will be answered on 10/29. Thanks for taking time to read (or not). Go Dogs!

duck wrote: Some great post everybody, it seems we or most all feel the same way. I don't think CMR can turn this thing around, and that he is now losing is cool. For the past couple of years things got out of hand with the arrest and dismisals. He (CMR) has not been able to motivate the players as he should with out gimicks. To me you play for UGA and if you can not get fired up playing Fla, Alb, ect then you don't need to be playing football. Another problem I see, if that we can not beat the upper teams in our league or from other conferences. I mean when is the last time we beat a top 25 team.

I like most said it is time for CMR to step back look at his self and be honest with himself as to wether he wants to do this job any longer. If his heart is not in it or he can't figure out how to get these kids ready to play, then he needs to resign. I have stated on other threads, I doubt seriously that we will beat FLA. We are on a win streak and Fla on a losing streak. On of these streaks has got to come to an end, and history usually goes with us a to breaking the streak.

This group of players has played better at times than the other teams, but I just don't see that 100% commitment for every player to want to win. The OL to me sucks, being the size they are, they should make holes for at least 15 tro 20 seconds.

I guess the bottom line is how do the players feel about CMR throwing them under the bus on TV, will they play for him or lay down on him. Time will only tell, but win out or lose, I personally think that it is time for CMR and BOBO to go.

Duck, do you remeber last year. We were on a 3 game win streak and FLorida was on a 3 game lose streak ( i do believe this was the case i might be mistaken though). However Florida came out with a W on that.

Sadly I see this happening too.The bulldog nation did call for his head and Richt had to fire him to keep his job. I would like to see CMR fire someone bc HE feels like the job isn't getting done, not just the fans. But however it happens I want Bobo gone, and I want someone who can come up into any game and score 30+ points, hell 40+ points a game.

Amen. Me, you, Buc, Wlayton, Ogre, growl, and everyone else here shouldn't have to manage his staff
for him, lol

I just want an offense that can open holes for the running game, protect my QB, and not do something
bone-headed that costs us or almost costs us games on a fairly regular basis. Give me that and
the point total stuff will take care of itself.

Hey fellas, been under the weather the past few days, but finally back up on my feet. Been trying to catch up with posts and this thread was the first one I've had a chance to read through.

I think most of you can tell from my past posts that I'm all for rebuilding under a new coach for several reasons but none more important, to me at least, than one I'll mention in a minute.

First though, I want to say one thing...a coach is a coach...yes the coach is, for the time, charged with leading our beloved program, but a beloved program a coach does not make! I fully hope we win out, make the SEC Championship, WIN the SEC Championship, and somehow sneak into the National Title game and win that too. In no way do I hope any of these things come true for the sake of saving Richt's job. I want them to come true because I will always stand behind my team and cheer/hope/pray for the best possible outcome, regardless of who's wearing the headset on the sideline.

As for the reasoning behind starting fresh with a new coach. There is no better analogy than that of a pet dog. Suppose you have a pet dog that is loyal, faithful, and by most accounts the best pet you've had for roughly 6 to 8 years. Then one day your pet dog bites you...and bites you HARD. Not sure about everyone else on this board, but for me personally, I would spend every waking day with that dog in my house wondering not IF, but WHEN that dog will bite me again.

Just my opinion, but I've been bitten, a few times, for the past several years by our current dog. I don't want to spend the next several years wondering when the next bite will come...
