In the late 90s/early 2000s people said the same thing except the roles were reveresed and it was the east that was stacked with Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia that were a notch above everybody else. Remember, since the SEC went to a championship game format, the east has been the dominant division up until about 4 years ago. We'll be back. We still hold the overall edge in SEC championships 11-8

UGAChemDawg, agree with your post and thought I might add this . . .

The West has added some coaches that really know how to make football interesting and above average on anyones scale of grading success. If I had to pick one factor that has changed the overall difference between the East and West, it would be coaching. My opinion.

What has happened to the east... hmm..

UGA - We know what's happened there.

Tennessee - Fulmer left the program with little talent, and then Kiffin came in and pooped all over
the place making it even worse. Gonna' take little Dooley or anyone 3 years to get that mess
straightened out.

UF - Their mercenary coach put all of his eggs in one basket named Tebow, and then split as soon
as he did. That left UF with an offense not suited for the remaining talent. Health my can...
The mercenary split because he knew the gig was up as soon as Tebow left. Mark my words.. he'll
feel a lot better and get back into coaching as soon as he finds a high profile program with a
freshman QB suited for his offense already there.

SC - Nothing really negative there. They are who they are, and have stepped up a bit to fill the
void left at the top by UGA, UT, and UF. Ultimately they are what they are... A pretty good program
that probably looks a bit better due to the void in the east right now.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt are.. well.. Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

The east will get straightened out as soon as there is a return to stable competent coaching.

UGA, UT, and UF have no problem recruiting the talent if the coaching is stable and competent.

Reading your post, gather you think the big swing on the West side is because of coaching?

Can only imagine the hype prior to the Alabama/LSU game. Will only stregthen their recruiting efforts, win or lose.

Grantham and his gang (coaches and players) continue to upgrade UGA's defense, we will get there at some point. Really line Grantham's next man up when a player goes down. Gilliard name player of the week in the SEC. RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

Well yes... Miles and Saban have given their teams stability and consistency in recruiting and
how their teams play. Auburn had a big upswing when they found their own Tebow for a single season.

Arkansas found a coach that while universally hated outside of that state, can recruit and
knows how to run a high powered collegiate offense, as he's done it everywhere he's been.

Miss State and Ole Miss are what they are.

The west probably has better talent as well right now, namely because of consistent and more
than competent people running the shows.

Folks looking around the internet, reading different blogs and posts. This is not to start controversy, it is taking a look at what others are saying about our program thus far. Some interesting facts and speculation in the two links below. Never hurts to view what others have to say.
