I give an example, after the usc game, we managed to rip the coaches, same pattern after every loss. The offense scored 42 pts against a pretty good defense. Somehow, it was the play calling and coaches fault. Then, look at how we lost. How do you coach against those mistakes. Saban couldn't do it last year against au. No coach can.

My point is, every week it is a Richt and staff bashing. It doesn't even matter if we won the game. Have the coaches deserved some ripping? You bet they have. Have the earned all the bashing I have seen. No. I am pretty sure if they ran out of gatorade on the sideline, some would blame Richt.

Am I impressed with the wins. No, but at the same time, they were wins in the SEC. I was probably more impressed with the way the team played against usc, than I was in the 2 wins. Played a really good game minus 4 plays. I don't believe most of the blame should be on the coaches in that loss. Bsu, they should take all the blame. Will agree with that. Kids weren't ready. That is coaching.

AD5.....gotta agree with your post.

Many of these posts are getting redundant......bashing the coaches even if we win. I have too but geez, can't we start looking at how they are gradually improving? No, we aren't there yet but they ARE playing better. Like I said in another post.....certainly don't want to peak yet. They will continue to get better because true freshman are playing along with sophomores and the more they are on the field the better they are going to get.

Maybe instead of bashing every little thing the coaches do, we should comment on some of the good things they do? (and I'm as guilty as anyone, it's just old news)

What's old news, wlayton, is the mistakes that the coaches make over and over with seemingly no desire to correct them.

sadlerdawg wrote: MikeH and AD5, I'm glad that you guys can be happy with just the fact that we won, and I'm not saying that is wrong, but I'm not like that. Yes we won, but there were far too many coaching blunders going on that are going to get us beaten by better teams, and some of us feel that if those mistakes are corrected, we might not lose these other games. EVERYBODY sitting around me in the stadium KNEW we were going to pass on 2nd and 3rd downs after we got the ball on their 15. Everybody wanted to just run the ball and try to score. Question--since we all knew what was coming, do we think the MS coaches might have known? And do you think maybe the offense quits, maybe even subconsciously, after Richt shows ZERO faith in them by not going for it on 2 4th and inches in a row?????
A win is win in my book as well, but simply winning because we are playing far inferior competition doesn't make me giddy and I will point out the mistakes the staff makes over and over.

Sadlerdawg, I'm definitely not backing off my earlier stated position...at the end of the year, regardless of what the outcome of the remainder of the games is, yes even if we win out, Richt needs to be let go. I said on a different post a few weeks ago that I feel he's gone past a "point of no return" i.e., he's lost the team. Someone said earlier that the program has gone "stale." I agree...it is time to shake things up. Regardless of the outcome of the season, we're stuck with the coaching staff we have until at least December 31st (hopefully sometime in January) so I'm just gonna kick back and enjoy the W's...any way we can get 'em!

Look, I said I'm just as guilty as anyone in bashing the coaches......just how many different ways are there to do it? Just getting redundant......we're improving, just trying to be a little more positive, I've done my share of negativity.

Since we are winning and playing better for the most part, I'm going to enjoy ANY win we can get and see how this thing plays out.

I'm enjoying the wins as well, wlayton, and again, I'm not trying to convince you not to enjoy them, or that you still should bash the coaches, or to modify your behavior in any means. I, on the other hand, will continue to point out the same mistakes made over and over by people that I, in essence, am helping to pay hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars to do a job which sometimes includes admitting mistakes and trying to correct them.

Not trying to stir things up, but they ARE trying to correct them...you can see that in the playcalling from BS/SC to the last three games. I'm DEFINITELY not trying to defend the coaches, but I do feel like Richt is getting more active in the running of the offense, at least it looks that way from the stands. That, in my mind, is correcting things...at least as much as they can be corrected with the current staff still in place! :(
