My 2 obvious impressions from Sanford....

I will give people credit on Saban. IMO, he is the best. But even with Saban, How does he lose last year. I mean they are totally dominating auburn, and somehow he gets beat. You think losing to bsu was bad. I maybe remembering something incorrectly, but didn't utah beat the living snot out of bama?

I keep seeing where everyone considers Richt to have a disappointing year when we were preseason No.1. What about Bama last year. Look at all that talent. Heisman trophy winner, 1st round wr, that o line. How could you ever lose?

Not making the argument Richt is better than Saban because he's not. No one is in my opinion. But, I would love to hear the reasons for why Saban's team's lost those games? Did he get out coached, or did his players not perform at the best of their abilities? I know what I think, but from what I am seeing lately, players don't lose games. Only coaches do.

Last years Alabama team lost a metric poop ton of talent from the previous year to the NFL draft. The problems were mostly on defense..............which was the end problem against sCam Newton and Auburn. Newton is a once a generation type player. He just did his thing. Even Saban has talent leave.

Saban had a down year last year because the defense lost talent from the previous year.

Players do lose games. Saban might even get out coached every once in awhile. Alabama may occasionally get surprised by a good team that
they take too lightly, or let a game almost won against
a quality opponent get away...

but it rarely is a trend repeated a multitude of times
over the course of a single season. His losses are
more singular, isolated incidents and he often gets
quick redemption.

Those losses happened to Saban, because he and his
teams are not infallable... although it never seems to translate to 2+ years of struggling to play .500 ball
in the conference.

Would hate to be Auburn playing Alabama this year. Anyone that watched the Alabama/Florida game, Alabama will double the efforts they made in the Florida game when they meet up with Auburn. OUCH!! Alabama and Saban remember last year.

Good coaches lose.
This is also the first year that all the Alabama players are Saban recruits.
My brother is an Alabama grad and I have to endure all the 'Bama talking points.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?! Saban lost a game while he was coaching at 'Bama?????? How do their fans put up with that kind of mediocrity?? And to think some people have the nerve to think he's a good coach.:S
