A View of Football

thriller, so much in your post that I agree with.

Guess I am drinking the koolaid, red, cherry flavored that has been handed to us about JT. At first did not know, can't say for certain, but I am beginning to totally buy into this change in the program. Looking back at some of the film on our fourth quarter efforts, not lack of effort, lack of stamina. Once the S&C changes were made, it was a reason to look closer at WHY.

The lineman from UF made some comments about the UGA guys were sucking air, that alone is enough to start analyzing the program. Not sure (totally sure) just what happened with Ealey, have read a couple of different things, but that aside, JT is the man that pulled the rip cord.

Something that is really going to interest me concerning this S&C change will be the folks like Drew, JJ and others after working under both JT and CTG. Think that JJ reports in May, will be a huge shot in the arm (program) if he comes in guns blazing and getting ready to play SEC football. Drew and JJ both can move this program forward light years if they are anywhere close to what and where we think they are. Tyson and Jones have to be chomping at the bits to play alongside this caliber of NT.

Linebacking corps at UGA, both returning and new, don't think on paper that I have ever seen the positions as deep as this group appears. I have mentioned Ramik Wilson, have watched him, he plays with the same spirit and toughness as AM. He will probably play special teams, and I will tell you this . . . . somebody better find a hole, RW is heading your way. Folks in Athens are going to love this young man. Plays with great instincts.

thriller, thanks for your input, it is as averagedawg said about AD5, you are to the point whether we or anyone likes it or not. Much more to say, need for the rest of you to jump in here or elsewhere and keep these UGA conversations alive. Spring football is just around the corner, going to be exciting . . . . .

yankeedawg1, anytime someone says that we have a leader that comes close to Ray Lewis, I am impressed. If Drew turns out to be as much of a Dawg as Lewis is a Raven, Brother, we just hit the lotto.

Also yd1, I like the quietness in Athens, hope and pray it stays that way, time for UGA to wear our colors with pride. Huge year in Athens. UGA and SC, only room for men in that game, it will be much like the old time movies about the warriors in Greece and Athens. We beat Boise State in Atlanta . . . . . the SC game could be played in an arena holding 200,000 and there would be standing room only. Getting excited. Come on Spring football. :woohoo:

Hey Buc, spot on again... this is the place to be,forget about the rest when you mess with the best.

Drew will be the binder that we need, his voice and leadership. To me he is a young Ray Lewis just ready to tackle anything in front of him. CMR has got a great tool for future recruiting with him also. Another quite day in Athens no jawing or coach speak nobody making bail. Guys just moving metal in the weight room. Focus on the eye of the tiger..only way to ease the pain of losing is go out and win. Home game in the dome,ESPN game day... great chance to put some shine back on the program. Go Dawgs !!

Drew has a way to grow to get to be a clone of RL however CTG is going to express lane him,he will get feed as much as he can handle, with body and speed like him..look for him to run dowm ML from the back side while JJ stands tall in the middle.. no place to run.. no place to hide. CTG wants the ole ball coach here between the hedges. CTG - I have said before is like a big cat just pacing and stalking waiting... second year watch out. Yup spring ball will be fun. Go Dawgs

:) Another player that I have been intrigued by is Sterling Bailey.

Spotlight moved away from Sterling after he commited to UGA. I do remember that Coach Grantham recruited this young man big time, and Sterling commited to UGA in May of 2010. He did have the family and a lot of boosters around him, along with lights, camera, action when he said the magic words . . . going to UGA. This young man could have played for any school in the nation, fact.

So, seems that the concensus is that Sterling will redshirt. Haven't heard the coaches say that, but it appears to me that if that is the case, we have another high quality athlete that is prepared to play team ball. Like that . . . . also like the fact that Sterling is 6'5", weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 260/270, runs a 4.7 forty. Does Sterling's statistics sound like a sack machine in the making. Coach T has got to be beside himself with talent like this in the new facility.

Build that depth, Coach Richt, Coach Grantham, think that these Dawgs will hunt.

If you are reading this thread, you have to have a player or players that you like for one reason or another. Come on up, chances are we make this an incredible year both on and off of the gridiron.

bulldawg36869, know that you are out there, respect your posts, think you probably played the game at a high level. Come on Brother, give us a thought or two. . . . :)

Buc, I emailed "my guy" to see if any info on replacing Belin and while I was at it I mentioned Clowney.....here's his response.

"The only thing that I know is that they apparently are talking to someone that is currently on another staff, and I get the feeling that it’s someone in the NFL. Haven’t heard any names though."

"Clowney going to USC hurts. That means that we’ve got to play that guy at least 3 years. I hope he doesn’t qualify because that guy probably is the best looking pass rusher that I’ve seen coming out of high school."

The operative words in the 2nd paragraph are "doesn't qualify".........hmmmmmmm ;)

He emailed me back about my operative words above.......

"Heard that South Carolina may claim he has a learning disability to get him in…"
