Agree with all that we are in toruble. But isn't it ironic that IF we were to land the three 5 stars: IC, Drew, Rome, and throw in the big NT then we could have a top 3 class?
Three 5 stars will move you up in a hurry.
BulldogShannon, that is what makes me go into these moments that I have screaming at the TV and some of the other media hype.
Think most of us could/can agree that in the past few years, up until recently anyway, we have had superior incoming classes but we continue to fall further and further in the national polls as well as the SEC.
As yet none of the changes to UGA football have helped our cause recently. This is why I guess I am such a harper, know that lots of folks would love for this type of attitude to drop, at some point it will. With all of the talent, say over the past three years, two years or whatever that has joined forces in Athens . . . . why are we getting worse.
One would think that surely with the talent in Athens we would be in the top 25.
The way that I see it is this . . . we had the wrong folks trying to teach 3, 4 and 5 star athletes how to play the SEC game. There have been folks released and new people hired. The sticky subject with me at this point is why are we going to go along with the same game plan that has proven wrong and failing badly not only in the SEC, but folks like UCF beat us, and the talk down this way since the UCF victory is that when the game started, they knew they could win. And they did.
Richt is the dean of the SEC coaches now, and with more time in grade than the others, he has yet to accomplish what Saban, Miles and Meyer have. Now we can add Chizik to that group. Amazing.
To publicly say that he has not had his attention focused on the job that he was hired to do, leaves little doubt in my mind as to why these athletes come to Athens and for all of the world to see, look lost.
I have been on this board for a while now, and this is as down as I have been since Tennessee kicked out butts a few years back. I keep seeing the same things happening year after year. That is in the past, going to be very vocal, call it like I see it and if others choose not to hear it, move along to another place on the board or don't read what I post. If there is reason for debate, that is as it should be.
When we have CTG come in and the first words out of his mouth are he is coaching to win National Championships. Impresses me. I have yet to hear Richt say those words, if I am wrong, someone on this board show me where he said it, point me in that direction.
Belue has begun to question football at UGA, Tarkenton is the latest. I feel that there will be more.
This is the time of the year that folks start getting reved up with the recruiting, I am certainly one of them. If Richt gets the players you mentioned above BulldogShannon, here is hoping that he understands he is on the hot seat. With talent like that, there is no room for excuses, especially with the type of talent that already resides in Athens. My opinion.
