Agree with all that we are in toruble. But isn't it ironic that IF we were to land the three 5 stars: IC, Drew, Rome, and throw in the big NT then we could have a top 3 class?

Three 5 stars will move you up in a hurry.

BulldogShannon, that is what makes me go into these moments that I have screaming at the TV and some of the other media hype.

Think most of us could/can agree that in the past few years, up until recently anyway, we have had superior incoming classes but we continue to fall further and further in the national polls as well as the SEC.

As yet none of the changes to UGA football have helped our cause recently. This is why I guess I am such a harper, know that lots of folks would love for this type of attitude to drop, at some point it will. With all of the talent, say over the past three years, two years or whatever that has joined forces in Athens . . . . why are we getting worse.

One would think that surely with the talent in Athens we would be in the top 25.

The way that I see it is this . . . we had the wrong folks trying to teach 3, 4 and 5 star athletes how to play the SEC game. There have been folks released and new people hired. The sticky subject with me at this point is why are we going to go along with the same game plan that has proven wrong and failing badly not only in the SEC, but folks like UCF beat us, and the talk down this way since the UCF victory is that when the game started, they knew they could win. And they did.

Richt is the dean of the SEC coaches now, and with more time in grade than the others, he has yet to accomplish what Saban, Miles and Meyer have. Now we can add Chizik to that group. Amazing.

To publicly say that he has not had his attention focused on the job that he was hired to do, leaves little doubt in my mind as to why these athletes come to Athens and for all of the world to see, look lost.

I have been on this board for a while now, and this is as down as I have been since Tennessee kicked out butts a few years back. I keep seeing the same things happening year after year. That is in the past, going to be very vocal, call it like I see it and if others choose not to hear it, move along to another place on the board or don't read what I post. If there is reason for debate, that is as it should be.

When we have CTG come in and the first words out of his mouth are he is coaching to win National Championships. Impresses me. I have yet to hear Richt say those words, if I am wrong, someone on this board show me where he said it, point me in that direction.

Belue has begun to question football at UGA, Tarkenton is the latest. I feel that there will be more.

This is the time of the year that folks start getting reved up with the recruiting, I am certainly one of them. If Richt gets the players you mentioned above BulldogShannon, here is hoping that he understands he is on the hot seat. With talent like that, there is no room for excuses, especially with the type of talent that already resides in Athens. My opinion.

My greatest fear is we go 8-5 or 9-4 next year and Richt gets "one more year."

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't AM have more yards as a freshman than DG or any other UGA QB's? With the exception of a few games (without AJ), the O put up plenty of points and the D cost us many games. Not beating a dead horse and DO understand what you are saying with some of the play calling.....but for a freshman, he did pretty dang well. Be REAL surprised if they don't let him do even more this coming year, Remember, when they turned everything over to DJ he was a 5th year senior. Hopefully this will happen.....but I hear ya!!

We both want the same thing, which is AM to have more freedom to do what he does, and, I don't want to beat a dead horse either, but what was the collective record of those teams we put up so many points on? I get what you're saying, I don't see any need to argue about it, but I'm talking about putting AM in a spread more often and giving him the option to run as much as pass. We did not beat a team with a winning record, and only scored 6 on UCF, so the O putting up plenty of points isn't real convincing to me. Had AM been turned loose this year, I think we may have won a couple of those close games against non-cream puffs.

sadlerdawg.....after reading and reading our posts, the biggest thing offensively that stands out to me is "inconsistency". I actually believe most of that comes from our hugely, underachieving OL. In many games this past year, AM had to run for his life.

I also don't think you can completely turn AM loose. He is only 6 feet tall, at best and weighs around 190. If they let him loose the way he played in HS, he wouldn't make it through a season in the SEC. Imo, AM would eventually get his clock cleaned......SEC LB's and safeties would take him out at some point if he ran like he did in HS. He's tough for his size but he's not a TT. I would be a little careful with that as well if I was his coach........slide rule or not.

Oh....I would take 9-4 if we beat UF, UT and GT.
