Off the subject a little bit, however would love to see some dude blindside Fairley. One of those hits he put on AM, that he and his coach later defended.

Every time I think about that and other hits by Fairley, reminds me of the Burt Reynolds 1974 movie "The Longest Yard". Dude will meet his match in the NFL.

I'm with ya Buc....but I gotta say, even though he's dirty, he's a great player. Certainly dominated last night and probably won the game for AU. Irony is he doesn't NEED to be dirty, he's a great player and WILL make it big in the NFL. Somebody will eventually "get him", you can count on that.

Truth be told about Fairley. He is a terrific d lineman. Proof is in the pudding. Last night he MADE the best running team in the nation move away from what they do best and that is of course run the football. Auburn's defense did not allow them that part of their game. Duck QB looked less than average when run game was shut down.

Took a little time and really scanned our verbally commited incoming 2011 class. Really impressive, Coach Lakatos has to be grinning from ear to ear. He has a tremendous amount of talent to work with, could very well be UGA's strong suit in 2011. Talent on the field now and this incoming group, wow.

Linebacking corps, looks strong to me. Ramik Wilson will add a lot to this group. If given the chance, he will push for playing time. In my opinion, he is like AM that came from Plant, loaded with talent, just needs to learn the game. Think we will see Ramik used like Ogletree was this past season. Learn on the fly. Believe me when I say this, he has talent and will hit you.

Another player that I think is going to showcase nicely is Ken Malcome. If IC signs on, feel that KM and IC will end up being the one two punch at running back. One of our running backs I don't expect to return next year, a guess of course.

Receivers, we have talent coming in and have talent on campus. I am still a strong Wooten believer, saw him do too much in high school not to be more effective.

QB should not be a question mark at UGA for a long time to come. Talent on campus and a highly rated QB coming in.

Here is where I think the rubber meets the road. Offensive line has to be built with the future in mind for sure. That is my biggest question mark for UGA 2011. Coach Searels gets some quality athletes on campus, knows what to do, and will do it. Some question Searels, I don't, man knows how, just get the right talent in Athens for him to develop.

In another thread I predicted either a 8/4 or 7/5 win/loss season for 2011. One would think that all of the above sounds better than that. I hope so, we have talent and the schedule to change what has been going on in Athens for sometime. 2011 could be full of surprises, I hope for the best.

AJC College Sports Recruiting Georgia JUCO NG John Jenkins de-commits to Okla. St.
3:39 pm January 11, 2011, by Chip Towers

The whirlwind recruitment of junior college star John Jenkins just got a new boost of momentum.

John Jenkins
Jenkins, a 6-foot-4, 340-pound nose guard from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, officially de-committed from Oklahoma State this week. Not that he’d been very committed before that. Georgia has been in hot pursuit of the hole-plugging nose guard for months. The Bulldogs made in-home visits both last month and this one and will host Jenkins on an official visit Jan. 21.

Meanwhile, Auburn, Florida and Miami have also been in contact with Jenkins and have made him a recruiting priority.

So it wasn’t much of a surprise when Jenkins backed off an October commitment to Oklahoma State when the Cowboys came to visit him in Connecticut recently.

“They said they felt like I wasn’t committed to them anymore; that’s the way the conversation started,” Jenkins said of Oklahoma State. “It ended up with me saying I had to do what I had to do and I’d let them know.”

The Cowboys aren’t likely waiting by the phone. They recently got a commitment from another junior college nose guard, Maurice Hayes (6-4, 325) of Bakersfield, Calif. Meanwhile, Jenkins will be taking officials visits to Miami (this weekend) and Florida (Jan. 28) in addition to Georgia.

Jenkins calls Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Miami his top four. He insists there is no leader at this point, but he speaks very highly of the Bulldogs.

“I do my homework,” he said.” I know from that and from recruiting visits they need help in the middle. I want to be that missing link they’re looking for. That definitely helps them.”

The past weekend Jenkins hosted head coach Mark Richt, defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and defensive line coach Rodney Garner in his Meriden, Conn., home.

“It was a great visit,” said Jenkins, who was back in Gulfport, Miss., Tuesday. “It was the second time they’ve been up there but the first time with Coach Richt.

Jenkins said he is no longer considering Ole Miss or Mississippi State. Florida is the newest player in the Jenkins’ sweepstakes.

“I just decided that this week,” Jenkins said. “I want to finish up my visits, talk it over with my family and then hopefully I’ll be ready to make a decision.”

Agree Buc - we already have a pretty good class - still need to get that Jenkins guy to play nose and even though we have a couple of O linemen committed - would still like to get that X Ward guy from moultrie - never have enough GOOD linemen O & D

I also agree that with what we have and what we MAY sign this year - we will be good EXCEPT Linemen

agree Lakatos/Belin have got to be smiling big time

If we can get Crowell and KM already there - they will be our #1&2

Hope we can also get RayDrew/JayRome/MalcomeMithchel

If they all sign - we'd have a GREAT class

Then it'll be up to the coaches to develop these guys into a "dream team"
