-stupid penalties were practically nonexistent
-tackling was improved
-special teams light years better than in recent seasons and were actually an asset vs the Tigers

Keep doing each of those and the talent comes to the fore. Then I like the 'dawgs chances.

Geez....hope you didn't just give them the "kiss of death" in those three areas you mentioned....   :woohoo: ;)

(just kidding of course)

Trust me, I hesitated before I hit "Submit". :woohoo:

sflanagan21, an absolute solid post.

Since coming to this board, you have never been a middle of the road poster. Guarantee you that is appreciated by most that come to this site.

I still have high hopes that Douglas will line up in the fullback or blocking back position. He really wants to get on the field, believe that he will before all is said and done. In my mind, he is the same type player that Maxey is, more overall talent, but Douglas is a "football player", makes no damn difference where he lines up and that includes Special Teams.

So it is being passed along this week that we are deep into the "silent count". If we can pull that off and, allow me this, not meant to be too ugly, keep Theus on the same page, it will instill much confidence into our offensive line, do not believe that South Carolina could handle that. Crowd noise can also work against their defense if we do well with the "silent count". Might see their defensive troops waving their arms.

Your words on "tempo" are perfect. Believe that South Carolina is still a bit "confused" after watching their game with ECU. We both know that their defense will be "spying". That in itself could pay dividends for us. Works both ways. Not telling you anything, you are still coaching.

Going to say this . . . . Hutson Mason was known for "accuracy" when he signed on with the Red and Black. I believe that is going to be "one" of the "payoffs" in the "victory" over South Carolina. I really don't have too many thoughts about Hutson not getting it done in Columbia. Surrounded by a truck load of talent, everyone needs to understand the word often used here and elsewhere . . . . team work. Saw that happen in the second half of the Clemson game.

Good read sflanagan21.

Keep those safeties alert, Thompson tends to over throw his WR's.

When he misses, he usually misses high.

Thanks Buc, I wish I had more time to spend on here with my fellow "Real Football Talk" Dawg fans! I check in year round almost daily but with family, fun, work and life it's hard sometimes to take the time to post. Believe this, there is NO board like this one when it comes to real football talk and true passion for UGA football! I truely appreciate how much everyone contributes their time to post some great reading!

One more thought on Douglas, you're right Buc the kid is a "football player"! Give him any task no matter what it is and he will give you all he has and then some! I firmly believe that in the right down situation he can contribute BIG time, rather it's blocking for I Mac on an end around or getting us a tough yard. He has NO problem doing the "dirty work", kid has heart and is as gritty as they come!

I have a good friend that played at UGA in the mid 90's, not gonna mention any names or elaborlate too much but I will say this, we will see some different looks this Sat.

HM will play a much bigger role in this game. I think after Sat we will look at HM a little bit different, who knows maybe Bobo as well...

GO DAWGS
