One word: clutch.
Think about how many times in the past years we've been in this same situation and we came away losers. Several come to mind including that SECCG against Bama. But, like I said last week, we only need to win by one point (although my blood pressure will be off the chart if this is how the season is going to go.)
For Eason, this is going to plan. He has room to grow. He made some poor throws that, in another season or two, are touchdowns. He's getting better each week, so I think his maturity will come sooner rather than later. The thing is, what I saw in that last drive proves that he is the man for the job. Clutch. Just get it down field and then put the opponent to sleep, which is what happened.
Of course, if we could hit chip shot field goals, or if we could catch balls that hit us in the hands (ala last week), this game would have been a walk. However, I think that the league just got put on notice that, if you load the box to stop NC, JE is going to light you up down field. And that's how it should be. McKenzie deserves some credit, but I wish he would kill his inconsistency. He has the skill set to become legend were it not for the mental errors.
D played great, but no support from the O when they got the turnovers. Something to work on.
Final note: that hit on the punt return was completely unnecessary. We don't need that garbage at Georgia.
