Scooby, if we were still under the management of our past head coach, not sure we would beat UNC.
Those that follow football closely enough understand that UNC went under a "major" coaching change also . . . . again.
While they have had some problems with their hires, UNC understands that at some point football is important to the program. Basketball, understood. Football is the craze, especially college football this day and time.
UGA, had become "stale". Those wanting to enlist Richt for another 15 or so years began to get the message. Message was a very simple one . . . . old timers, players and those that contributed heavily and often to the program said enough is enough. Bruised feelings belong to those that cannot accept reality.
Opening against UNC in Atlanta, there is not a doubt that the place will be rocking. There will be a lot of Blue in the seats, every seat available to the Red group will be sold out . . . . "quickly". 93k in Athens proves to me and some others that "change was needed".
Not to be mislead, there are some very good football players on the roster in Athens. Hell, who knows, might even throw the football to one or more of the stable of tight ends during the game.
Here is where I am at . . . .
We got more than a head coach. We got several coaches that have the same way of coaching that Kirby has. Better than that, Kirby got some coaches that he knows will improve all facets of Georgia Football. Team mean coaches, players and Mahogany Row staying the hell away from "progress".
UNC is for real, some of us are aware . . . . Smart and Company know that to be true.
Took us 100 or so years to understand that offensive lines "count".
Are we rebuilding, don't think so. Too many young men that play the game well are on our roster.
Can Smart and Company turn UGA Football into more than a "good team"? First effort to get 93k butts in Sanford Stadium worked . . . . who "truly" would have thought that would happen? Truthfully think that.
Much to be posted, more to come.
