Game Day Thread . . . . Georgia/South Carolina

I'd really like today that the jabs(knock out punch thrown by OL) go the other way, and there is only one way for that to happen. GO DAWGS!!!

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

growl, watching the "talking heads" just now. They are saying the same things that many of us have said or are saying.

Seems on game day against Georgia, the Gamecocks take on the temperament of their head coach. Maybe that explains winning 4 out of 5 meetings.

Will never forget the gators playing in Athens under Spurrier and he scored one more touchdown when not needed to break a record in scoring in Athens.

If we get the chance to return that kind of coaching, would be great, however I know how our head coach plays with a lead.

Lots of recruits in Athens for this game, a butt kicking by the home team might work in our recruiting favor.

I said earlier in a different thread; if this was almost any two other teams, or even the same two teams coached by two different coaches, I would HONESTLY predict UGA to CLOBBER South Carolina.

The "number 7" team in the nation, at HOME, against a team that just got beat AT HOME by Kentucky, and LOST their STARTING QB while doing it. Not only that, but the HOME TEAM in this game has Nick Chubb, Sony Michel AND Keith Marshall - you can have a brand new shiney stud at RB ALL GAME LONG. AND that very same Kentucky team simply lined up an ran the ball ALL GAME. South Carolina has AVERAGED giving up OVER 400 yards rushing. And the HOME TEAM D has Jordan Jenkins AND Leonard Floyd at the LB position.

By almost any standard you can apply, this whoopin' should end up something like UGA 49 'Cocks 3. It SHOULD NOT BE CLOSE. There is NO EXCUSE for a close game.

And, as has been pointed out correctly by almost everyone on this board . . . we are SCARED. Not because of the players . . . It ain't even close that way . . . not because of the stadium . . . it's OURS . . . But ONLY because of who the coaches are in the game . . . two guys who don't even step out on the field. Sad. :(

Really like coaches on the field.

Mark Hocke has been with this group of players more than any of the other coaches. Players have said that they are in the best shape of their young lives.

One of the players that has recently spoken up is Chris Mayes, prior to the coaching changes, Chris was just another number on the team. Impresses me.

Coaching them up does matter. Hocke does his part, and there is no doubt that Rocker does the same. Both on the sideline, my opinion that is a good thing.

South Carolina has to run the football, otherwise they might be looking for another quarterback in their next game.

Will also be interested in seeing how "close" the Refs call the game. There will be a lot of "juice" on both sides from the get go.

Chris continues to play the way he did in the first two games, NFL sees all, period.

Edit . . . . Looks as if you and were typing at the same time yankeedawg1, on the same page also. :)
