yd1, I think most folks are probably still gun shy when it comes to high praise of richt. This time may be different, but we've all seen this movie before. He's changed, he's got the fire back, we're back in the east race again, etc all to have the carpet pulled out from under us by some bone headed performance.
I'm happy we saw what we saw, but like others have stated, most of our SEC games won't be that easy and when faced with adversity, we may, repeat, MAY, see richt revert back to his old ways. We all hope not, but I'm taking a cautious approach.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Pretty much this. For the most part I'm happy with the way we played yesterday, minus special teams coverage. I've waited a long time to watch us really stick it to ole spurrier. But like Sadler said, we've seen this before.

Now if we can't beat a pissed off Bama team on October 3rd, we might be hearing a different tune. They still remain the biggest test we will face this season.

Not to confuse praise with acknowledgement

I agree we have not been tested yet

However, we are a good football team working

To get better..... Review games played after the

BB.....and include the BB. I see a very clear

Trend of improvement......looking at the rest of

The SEC and how the heads loved Assburn

Might that romance be cooling??

Tip of the hat to coaches and players for making the old ballsack enjoy his trip back to Columbia

Go Dawgs

Enjoyed our Boneless Gamecock Thighs smoked with apple wood. The experimental olive oil infusion was a big success - smoked for 4 hours and stayed juicy and tender. The Giant Rooster Eggs were perfect too - grilled and seasoned to perfection.

Now that I think about it, it was pretty much the same with the game. Smoked 'em for 4 hours, and they were probably pretty tender leaving Athens!

I love it when the Dawgs lay a whoopin' on Spurrious!

My takeaway today?

1. I'm cutting Lambert a little more slack today than this time yesterday. 24 of 25 against any SEC defense ain't half bad. Like Zeier said last night after the game, that's hard to do against AIR. We just saw what our potential is, as long as our QB shows up. Great job!

2. Our RBs just won't be stopped easily. As we saw, relegating your entire defense to stopping the run leaves you pretty vulnerable to the pass - especially those quick slants. You'd think a team coached by Spurrious would adjust and stop those.

3. Harris IS a beast at TE! We are stacked!

4. The O-Line will wear you down. And then wear you down some more. And then some more. I hate South Carolina and even I was exhausted by the continual crushing!

5. Our D can be pretty stout, but I don't know that this game proves it, because as mentioned yesterday - we SHOULD lay a whipping on South Carolina. A close game would have been an indictment of the football team. The 'Cocks are just NOT GOOD. I actually think Vandy is better.

I didn't call the score before the game yesterday, but I called the result - a sound whipping of a bad football team by a pretty good one. Except for a special teams lapse, that was a complete game.

Now two weeks off before a 3 game series. I hope the coaches have impressed on the team that they have the opportunity to do something VERY special. Most teams will BLOW that opportunity by temporarily losing focus and losing to teams they shouldn't.

FOCUS.

One comment that I listened to carefully from Richt's presser was . . . .

Said he left the play calling up to Schottenheimer. I like that. Why bring a coordinator in if they are not ready to "make things work" on their side of the ball.

yankeedawg1 you said . . . .

Below is Mark Richt's press conference, go to the 3 minute mark on the video if you choose, revealing, I think. Goes back to what sadlerdawg said in this thread, play calling "seems" to have changed with a new offensive coordinator.

Defense has changed, how much better, find out against an Alabama team that cannot afford to lose another SEC game. Fact.

Offense changed, "did against the Gamecocks".

Anytime any sports team or civilian organization makes changes, there are noticeable changes or, everything remains the same. We have been through that, more than once.

Can't speak to Schottenheimer at this point, do know this, our defensive coordinator and his group have changed a lot of things.

Just rolling "stuff" around in my head. No different than others that post here, I have opinions.

I'm a happy man today.

We all talked about the fact that Surrious and company would do lots of things to pressure and confuse Greyson.

I said the OC could do some things with scheme to keep it from happening.

Instead of us not getting in a rhythm, it was their D that couldn't.

God Bless and Go Dawgs
