#88 Jackson Harris.
Watched Harris blocking yesterday, going to be one of the best ever at tight end in Athens. Bad to the bone, and has great hands.
Schottenheimer has to be upside down when he looks at the different possibilities his offensive unit(s) bring to the table. Very little that cannot be utilized when game planning. Everyone keeps their heads screwed on, going to cause a lot of trouble in the East for sure.
kentdaddy right about Alabama. They can't afford to lose another game, and might be out of the Final Four with the loss to Ole Miss. Defensive front for Alabama will test our offensive line for sure. SEC football, right?
Watched the LSU/Auburn game. LSU is for real.
Lots of recruitable young men in Athens yesterday, have to believe that the game impressed many.

Yeah, Buc, it's amazing what a few well timed screens, slants, swings and sweeps will do for a QB's (and offense's) confidence. Not to mention allowing needed time for the defense to rest.
I definitely DO NOT miss the days of seeing the defense give up a TD after a long drive then our series consists of 2 bomb attempts and a draw up the middle, then punt and put our D right back on the field.
"Stat guys" were always quick to point out how many points we scored under bozo and that would be hard to replace. I think Schott shows this approach can put up as many, if not more points than the quick score approach, and allows for a more well rounded team effort.

"Our kicker and our punter played well."
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
That was fun to watch, but it's all been just an opening act for the rest of the SEC games. Now it gets real.

sadlerdawg, as complete and actual post you made #37, as has been made.
Watched some of the Colorado/Colorado State game yesterday. Play calls exactly as you mention above. Colorado State lost in overtime.
The slant passes yesterday were a thing of beauty, especially the placement of the passes. I don't expect a performance like the one against South Carolina everytime we take the field. One thing I do know, we are capable of that.
Blazevich said in an interview this past week that we have a lot that has not been seen in the passing game. He was spot on with that comment. If I had to guess, think that what happened against Spurrier yesterday had been planned that way from the beginning. A loss to Spurrier in Athens would have caused much "spit". Coaches understood that.
Play calling like yesterday is going to allow Malcolm Mitchell to become his "old self" again.
