Game 3 The Chickens R Coming to Athens

One thing that concerns me is during fall camp the O players stated how fast CBS was installing plays that they had to really pay attention to keep up and that's 180 degrees different from what the D players say about how the coaches go slow to make sure they understand what is asked of them. Don't know if that's why we are struggling on O or not. It also worries me that if GL stinks it up(I hope not) that they will keep him in until there's no chance of salvaging a win. Does no good to bail water after the boat has sunk.

DAWGtm, really good point about teaching the new plays. Maybe that is why the coordinator liked Lambert so much, smart young man.

Having watched his play so far, not sold on Lambert's ability to read defenses. Practice is one thing when he wears the special colored practice jersey. Saturday in Athens, he will play with the same colored jersey as those that get hit.

Don't get me wrong, I sincerely hope that Lambert lights it up, if he has to. I look at what he is surrounded with on the offensive side, good football players. Some great players.

Not ready to kick Schottenheimer out, just need to see more than I have seen so far.

Watching some film on the Gamecocks this week.

With our running game, this contest should be right up Schottenheimer's alley. Tight Ends should or could be the difference in this game.

Not to forget our kicking and punting game. This is the SEC.

If I could have a talk with Lambert it would go like this. Relax, let the game slow down and come to you and most importantly go out there and have some fun doing what you love to do kid!

He has all the tools and skills in the World to be really, really good! He is just playing a little tight and with tunnel vision. If you watch his passes in the second half you will see where he made some VERY good one's! His biggest problem in Virginia was he had horrible pass protection and a lot of his balls looked forced just to try to make something happen. He needs to realize that he has the protection here and trust in it. He is a very smart kid and I can see why Shotty likes him. But it's paramount to get him and the O into a good rhythm right from the start on Saturday. I would run hurry up to get the blood pumping and to set a good tempo that will get him going. Utilize the TE's on some drags and crossing routes, hit I Mac, Michel and Marshall on some bubble screens and quick passes in the flats. Reel them in and then turn Mitchell loose on a streak.

I have no choice but to put my faith in Shotty at this point and to believe in Lambert. It sounds like he is feeling much better in his confidence right now, hoping that carries over into the game on Sat.

I'm not crazy about CMR, but he could change all that if he would come out on Saturday with his hair on fire or something. Put some lightning in his eyes and jack somebody up, pick a fight with the biggest chickens fan he can get his hands on, grab a ref by the collar and get in his face. Anything to get our guys fired up and ready. GO DAWGS!!!
