On the one hand, you hope he really is better than what we've seen and he just had some bad breaks and jitters early on and now he's going to switch it on. But like you said, a lot of potential stars get undone by nerves and freezing up, like public speaking in front of a big crowd instead of your mirror.
I'll say this. There is probably nobody in college football who knows a quarterback's psychology better than Steve Spurrious. He knows about jitters and how to take FULL advantage of that. Pre-snap reads will be virtually impossible. Changing plays at the line will have GL questioning himself all the way through the game. Our coaches need to have him ready for all the nonsense he is GOING to see this Saturday in the SC defense.
USCe will logically load the box. Lambert needs to go through his reads with the confidence of knowing that the line has his back, and his RB will pick up the blitz. Don't pat the ball.
