Wartdawg you and I are on the same page.
Impossible to be around football as long as grantham and not know x's and o's. That in my opinion has been one of the main issues discussed on this board.
Recruiting and teaching will always fit in the same box. Excuse me . . . .
Two defensive coaches that profess to like a 3/4, although watching their sides of the ball play in many games, 3/4 is nothing more than numbers.
Sorry, if anyone on the internet that posts, or fans that go to the games or watch on TV don't see a difference in grantham and Pruitt's way of teaching, not much more can be said.
There were some that jumped all over Pruitt about needing big bodies in the middle, the grantham way. Same folks that were not happy when as you say Wartdawg, the big bodies ran out of "air".
What really amazes me is the thought that Pruitt upon arrival could turn a "mess" into something special. Pruitt works hard, Pruitt knows x's and o's, main feature that I like and approve of is . . . . Pruitt is a teacher. A teacher with a slanted opionion . . . . HIS. For those that don't think Pruitt is the "answer" there will be a lot of time to discuss that this season, 2016 will be the year that we "know".
Thought our defense looked pretty good against Louisville. Also watched our offense without Mike Bobo move quickly against the grantham defense in a "no brainer situation" score a touchdown. Watched that happen when grantham was our defensive coordinator.
As all of us know, there is a major difference between NFL bodies and college bodies . . . . same applies to high school players entering college. With our new S&C coach, expect to see even greater improvement in bodies and "air" in the fourth quarter.
There has been and continues to be "change" in Athens. Needed change. Copy cat league. Right now it appears that we are copying a winner . . . . Alabama. Check where our coaches learned much of what they will teach in Athens. For those that want to "whine" about Alabama, I suggest this . . . . you stick with the Mark Richt plan, you know the plan that speaks for itself . . . . "on the football field".
Happy Tuesday . . . .
