Smith simply may not know what he wants to do. Losing that relationship with the UCLA LB coach going to Atlanta is a legit factor I would think. Kids are very impressionable and could have felt very secure with that coach.....now he's gone to Atlanta.

We are mature adults, rational and can come to solid, quick decisions because of our "experiences" in matters over the years. He's a kid, immature and is making arguably the biggest decision of his life up to this point in time. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt FOR NOW until he shows me he feels "entitled", BMOC, a prima donna, etc etc

No going to make judgments and throw stones at him based on others that have taken the "look at me" path.....he could actually be a confused KID.

He may turn out to be a great kid but when I see signs he MAY not be, I wouldn't dicker around too long. His confusion or whatever it is would make me move on with other plans and when he finally gets around to making up his mind then I'll see if I still have a scholarship laying around for him.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Again, I would just give him some "space"....after all, he did commit to UCLA, not us. Not signing tells me deep down he "could be" a Dawg.

Besides, who do you move on to now??

Been on a mission for a few days, trying to catch up.

Smith said originally that he was down to two, UCLA and UGA.

Everything that I had read prior to and just after LOI day was Smith was having a very hard time choosing between the defensive coordinators. UCLA took care of the defensive coordinator consideration, ex-UCLA defensive coordinator is now employed by the Falcons.

In my mind that left the other defensive coordinator at UGA. Both Smith's coach and Smith often referred to the main problem being deciding between defensive coordinators. Only separation between UCLA and UGA was UCLA had been in the Smith camp way before UGA arrived. (Surprise anyone, not me) Same reason that we lose many talented players to other schools, seems we like to wait, and then wait, and . . . . Have heard the negative side of the late recruiting not just this year, been going on for a looooooooog time.

New defensive group of coaches comes to Athens and have heard many say, the entire system is changing. I totally believe that, fact is I have witnessed the change from day one of the Pruitt hire. The coaches that Pruitt selected to surround himself with recruit the same way Pruitt does, if not, they would not be on Pruitt's staff.

Not a doubt in my mind that Pruitt has moved on. Not saying he does not want Smith. Pruitt and others extended themselves to Smith and his high school coach. Made up a lot of "lost time" according to the high school coach prior to Smith selecting UCLA.

Comes a time when enough is enough. Does Smith know what Georgia football is all about? "He" said that UCLA AND UGA were parallel.

Don't buy what is going on at the present time folks. I am however "only" 1 vote. :)

Actually Buc we don't have a vote......lol... ;)

I'm sure Pruitt is not losing any sleep over Smith but he's not closing the door on him either.

wlayton you are right on both counts, never hurts to "dream" . . . .

From time to time I go back and read articles, feeling it gives me a better understanding of coaches and players.

This particular article says a lot to me. No dodging, and at the time Pruitt was avoiding the press, he had a lot on his plate. JAX game brought out the "true feelings" Pruitt has about football.

wlayton, no doubt Pruitt wants Smith, but the ball is simply in Smith's court at this point.

By the way followed Harris English over the weekend. Tough course.
