Welcome Class of 2015

Welcome Class of 2015 was created by Buc
Before all of the hoopla starts tomorrow, (2/4/2015) here is hoping that we get the young men that “want” to wear the Red and Black. Many on this board have said that, last two or three days went back looking at those that posted anything close to that.

One thing I feel as if I know. Anyone that follows the recruits and the recruiting process understand that many, not all players are looking closely at “playing time”. Some are.

Nothing should be guaranteed to any player that has yet to suit up and play on Saturday afternoon. There are a couple of very talented young players that seem to be wanting a “guarantee” of playing their Freshman year.

Can't speak for the offensive side of the ball, but I sure as heck hope that the coaches on that side handle “their business” as Pruitt/Rocker and Company have handled their young recruits, especially last season, their first (defense). Several players were released, players that some posters and media folks thought the restrictions were too harsh for UGA players. So, several of them are playing for teams like Auburn, Alabama and Louisville.

Jeremy Pruitt drew a line in the sand is all that I am saying. Good on not only Pruitt, the entire group that coach the defense.

Some of these incoming players might not realize that there is an abundance of talent on both sides of the ball in Athens. What's new?

(Tuesday Night - Tomorrow morning there will be those that choose to play elsewhere, I wish them the best except when they face off with Georgia.

Next year, 2016 Class will be faced with the same set of circumstances. It is good to feel you are the best, but remember this “young puppies” . . . . those on campus almost to the man had the same thoughts when they left high school and faced off with a “different” type of competition. Once lining up against teams that don't have a lot of “soft spots” as is customary in the SEC, that young folks is when the “real work begins”.

All of this “stuff” that you have come to believe from reading your press clippings, requires something “different” than what you have played against to this point.

Going with Wartdawg on this. Names don't mean much prior to 2/4/2015. 2/5/2015 all of us will know the players that “want” to wear the “Red and Black” and play between the “Hedges”.

Hope every board member gets the “names” that they want. :)

Agree Buc, I just want the ones that understand we ball not me ball. We have been burned in the past with the BMOC types that was promised things that they don't want to work for. As you said there would be no surprise on the D side of the ball nothing is promised all has to be earned. Like the attitude of or one RB recruit this year.

DAWGtm, watching the defensive coaches as closely as I can, believe they have the right formula that has been missing in Athens.

Defensive coaches are building "depth". Not that everyone notices that, but all any of us have to do is look back from the beginning of Richt's time in Athens. No, not going to say anything other than I sincerely hope that Mark Richt learned something after hiring Pruitt/Rocker and Company.

Might be one more year, but I can say this . . . . would not like to face off with Georgia's defense in 2015.

Still don't have a feel for Schottenheimer, reminds me a bit of Richt. Both were second stringers in college and no playing time in the NFL. Head coaches don't have to suit up and play in the NFL, Saban did not. urban meyer, same can be said.

I will continue to say this until the Good Lord takes me away . . . . wake up, offensive linemen make the "engine run". Don't believe my preaching, look at the successful football teams, both in the college ranks and the NFL. If board members do that, we can have a conversation.

I hope that we get two more offensive linemen in this class.

yankeedawg1, you and I have been on the same page for a long time when it comes to offensive linemen.

A lot of chatter about the quarterback super star in 2016, suits me, do know that two additional offensive linemen in this class could separate us from years past. :)

Up early in anticipation of the LOI results.

Read this article and thought it might be an ok thing to continue on the path of "calling" it like it is. Hard to beat "facts".

See where we have lost one to Auburn at this point, good player, know that I wanted him, but he belongs to Auburn now. Darius Slayton.
