All About "ME"

Does not get any clearer than that.

Also think that it has been mentioned that the problem for some time is the "Group". Richt and McGarity along with the President of UGA are allowing this to happen. From the "top" down.

One of two things will happen . . . . Richt will get out of the way or . . . . we will go through the same things mentioned in the article that you posted above.

I can see coaches like Pruitt/Rocker "testing" the current system. One thing for sure, if the coaches in Athens don't make a big splash, the program will go into free fall. That will be a carbon copy of the past 13 years.

Good read, nothing hidden, facts are facts.

Edit: Meant to say, the article reminds me of the situation that "was" in Austin, Texas. Brown was also a good man, but in the end, he got a bit "snarly" about being replaced. His lack of leadership led to Texas A&M becoming the "Bell Cow" of that state. Bevo was/is no more.

Sorry yankeedawg should of been clear never really liked ic he took to many plays off for me.

Buc that's the same thing Gurley said just proud to see somebody not afraid of competition but I think Gurley can handle it.

DWS, thought about your post after posting. Many times I read a post several times, and . . . . this old fart often comes away with different thoughts after reading the same "stuff" over and over.

Allow me this . . . .

I do believe that Mark Richt had an eye opening "come to realization" after the IC thingy on the sideline in ATL.

Sometimes when we have a set back, it is not like we can turn things around instantly. Not many magic wands in college football these days. Many times it takes being hit in the head with a 2x4 to "understand" our short comings. IC made me sick to my stomach with that "particular" show of BMOC.

Another thing that was hanging around our neck was a misconception that we had the one ingredient we needed to compete. That would be grantham. When the word "guilty" is used, that falls squarely on my shoulders. Not a bigger supporter of the grantham hiring than me. Both the original hiring and the "raise" to keep him in Athens. What a dumb ass I was. Still licking my wounds. Can only imagine what Richt was going through.

To that I say this . . . . I sincerely hope that Mark Richt has realized that there are those out there that will move "their cause" forward, giving a spit less what happens with the University of Georgia, that means you and I.

Pruitt/Rocker and Company were not a part of that spit. One thing we can do is this . . . . understand that the "newbies" recognize what happened prior to their hirings. They will make mistakes, but they are a different "breed". The "newbies" come from a different area of understanding how to "coach'em up".

Since Erk was released, (I said that) this is the first time that I have "believed" we are on the right track. Mark Richt is going into his 14th year as head coach. Dean of the SEC coaches. There is not place to hide, Mark Richt knows that. 2014 will be the first time in many years that Mark Richt finally understands what needs to be done. Why do I say that? Already he has turned our team over to Bobo and Pruitt.

Said in another post that we are going to get a couple of football players from Florida that will turn some heads before LOI Day.

I know. I get long. Love the Red and Black. Ugly sometimes, but "I" know where my "heart" is. :)

Would love to see ogredawg back. Don't think he knows how much he has meant to this board. Have had my feelings hurt many times here, lick my wounds and come back. That is what is going on in Athens now, licking wounds, but determined to change things.

Go Dawgs, Coach'em Up . . . . :)

Great post Buc.....thank you.

Title of the thread All About "ME" . . . .

Might be that the "ME" has begun to shift from the players to the head coach.

Special Teams and Offensive Line, does not get much clearer that Mark Richt was lost, or too comfortable, or . . . .

A lot of returning talent (again) in Athens.

Sometimes the AJC will have some to the point, interesting reading. In the link below, which I feel sure many have read, reading the comment section, thought I was looking back over our board.

Not that long ago, would not have as many comments pointed at Mark Richt and the offense.

Mike Bobo's name is listed along with Mark Richt in the article.

I believe that Mike Bobo has began to open his eyes, in the past I feel he was being "faithful" to Richt because of his opportunities.

Reading more and more since Pruitt's arrival, Bobo is stepping out from under Richt's shadow. Just my opinion, will get a better understanding in 2014.

Edit: wlayton, our program is at a point in time that "something" has to change. Say again, believe that Pruitt/Rocker and Company bring much of the needed change. Not only do they teach and do that well, they recruit like crazy and do that well also. Case of leadership, which I believe has been our achilles heel for too long.

Clemson will be a test.

What we are seeing with our program is transition pieces moving watching CMR he has so far

Stayed out of the kitchen We now can recruit with anybody. IMO players are looking at

Teams and coaches who can get them to the next level we can do that

More will be know about our transition as the season goes on. Early but have a feeling

CMR is learning from his assistants what the world of college football looks like outside

Of Athens. Go Dawgs

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, this might be the best explanation I have heard, you said . . . . CMR is learning from his assistants what the world of college football looks like outside
Of Athens.

wlayton one thing you have said and most on this board agree, along with what I see on other internet sites, fix the offensive line and do it year after year.

Watched some more video on Nick Chubb this morning, no way they redshirt him. Don't think he would really want to do that either. Coaches made that mistake with Moreno, here is hoping that the lesson was learned.

I realize that there has been conversation on this board about different types of offensive formations. Running the football out of the pro set suits me fine, just keep "fresh backs" rotating and pound, pound, pound. Richt said that he is going to feed Gurley, can live with that, but here is hoping some of the others get touches. We all understand a player "feeling it" some call it rhythm, whatever. This group of running backs can possibly be the best ever assembled on one college football team. My opinion.
