wlayton, I sincerely believe that Pruitt coming on board will also be an aid to Will Friend. Friends tend to help friends. That is a role that our head coach should spend more time on.

Don't of course know what richt does every minute of the day, that however takes me to this . . . . as you say above wlayton, ol/dl wins games, in the SEC that is factual . . . . if anyone has been in the same job, at the top and can't recognize what needs to be done in x number of years, not much can be said.

Most of us on this board know that richt cannot run a recruiting board and manage what he needs over a period of time. I can go back and back that up, with comments, don't think I need to as most or many here recognize that fact. He has always played heavy to one side, and only took care of needs on the offensive line to the tune of 3/4%. Offensive line always got lost in the shuffle.

Great point that Friend and Pruitt may feed off each other.

You are also right imo that friends should/will help friends......uh, as long as it is done in a right and productive way......need I say anything else?

wlayton, so true.....I, myself, hate to keep bringing up soccer but since I coach the females in it, why not?:):)

Great points on the OL/DL is what wins.
In soccer, its defense, midfielders, and goal keepers (the less GLAMOROUS stuff to the novie viewer).

Everyone talks about the "scorers" who do it with sizzle and flash like Messi, Ronaldo, and Morgan.......but those teams would stink if they didn't do the "blood and guts" stuff like defending, channeling, bumping, tackling.

It has always been the OL/DL and will continuew to be so.

Buc, you sold me:) I will give WF a couple years with these linemen.

I put it in my signature shortly after I arrived here (and finally figured out how to set up a signature).

NO EXCUSES

Nope.. none, not one. I'm out of the business of accepting them from this regime. I'm going
mafia loan shark here.

Oh what... so business has been slow??? #%#$ you... pay me.
Oh what... you didn't know your 10 year old car was going to break down??? #%#% you, pay me.

I know legitimate excuses exist, but I only allow so many over a given time period and the MR
regime is out of stock.

That doesn't mean I demand a NC and nothing less, but I'm not going to listen to jack crap
about a young O-line, a new QB, just like I didn't listen to "youth" on defense last year.

All that BS comes back to balanced recruiting so you don't put yourself in those positions.

BulldogShannon, Wartdawg, first class posts coming from you folks.

Shannon, excellent post on the Alabama line. Just like the military, one company moves out, another company moves in.

Wartdawg, I know that every coach cannot be a Saban, I have a problem with those that "think" they are in the same class.

Admired Saban when he was on the ESPN program at the National Championship Game as a commentator. When asked about Auburn, this is the first thing out of his mouth . . . . "Auburn has a great offensive line". NO EXCUSES.

What he said . . . . anyone in Athens listening?

You can have a stable of the best running backs in college football.
All they're gonna do is get hurt without a nasty offensive line.
