Shannon, as you know, chances are not good on Hyatt. Believe him to be as solid to Clemson as Sony Michel was to Georgia.
Some say or choose to believe that our offensive line problems started with Will Friend. All we have to do is simply flip the pages of the book backwards, there were not answers then. There was a lot of coverup, but that is how the folks in Athens are playing the offensive line game.
To me it is a sad commentary that we can get running backs and quarterbacks the caliber that we do and cannot come away with outstanding offensive linemen.
Mike Bobo seems to have no problems in recruiting for some areas of the offense, year after year, but cannot remember when I saw Bobo's name attached to a great recruiting effort on offensive linemen, consistently. Many times good offensive linemen prevent running backs and quarterbacks from injury.
Anyone want to know why offensive linemen go to Alabama? Young recruits walk through the trophy areas and see the names of offensive lineman that make it to the NFL. Not a few name, many names.
That falls on the head coach and the offensive coordinator as well as the offensive line coach.
Appears to me that we need another Bryan McClendon recruiting for the Red and Black. richt has not learned how to improve the weakest parts of his teams since his arrival. Likes the flash the media presents.
What does Clemson have going for them on Hyatt that we don't? Family yes, but their head coach is all over Hyatt, and that won't change. richt does not know how to get down in the dirt, might get his fingernails dirty. Going nowhere if we don't change the minds of many that fail to see the importance of the offensive line. Appears some efforts were made this year, but it has to be an ongoing process. Goofy has not a clue.
