scooby, as you can tell by reading this thread, these folks are deep rooted UGA fans.
This mark richt thing that is going on, and has been for longer than some like to admit, really points to opinions given. Many or most of the opinions come from very knowledgable football folks.
Many of us, myself included became really pissed when mark richt made the remark about those of us out here not understanding what being in the arena meant. sadlerdawg was the first one to point that out, several years back. Many out here probably have more "real time" on the football field than does mark richt. He was a BMOC in high school, after that, bench jockey.
Speaking for myself, was hoping that he would develop into a top notch head coach. Just has not happened. Clearly does not have the leadership tools needed to prepare these talented players at the D1 level. Wartdawg pointed that out in this thread.
averagedawg is a cool customer. He was off of the richt bandwagon long before many on this board. He did not and does not scream a lot, can say in fewer words what needs to be said than many can. Much quicker than I.
The one thing that has to stop is this talk about the "good man" head coach. Also has been said in this thread . . . . either coach the team up or allow someone else to enter the pay line.
Every top D1 university out there is busy, not just busy, "super busy" preparing for the new playoff system. richt cannot do that. He is loaded with talent year after year, regardless of whether he recruits the talent or his assistants do so.
Notice on the Carter approach, three coaches were in Carter's home for the recent visit. mark richt, Jeremy Pruitt and in my opinon the best recruiter UGA has and has had for a long time McClendon. McClendon and richt should swap paychecks, that is a fair statement. If Carter selects UGA, the media will be up richt's butt with praise, making it sound like richt was totally responsible for the signing.
Great University, Great Talent, head coach needed, badly.
