I believe CMR is a honest man.
Also believe none of us would just "walk away" from the job. Those above him will have to make that decision.....that is WHY you sign contracts with buyout clauses....protections are in place for all involved. All parties agreed to the contract so just because CMR doesn't walk away, I certainly don't think that would imply he wasn't being an honest man.
If I've been successful for many years and have a few years that was down a bit, I sure as heck wouldn't walk away....and I consider myself honest to a fault. My mindset would be if I've been near the top levels before, I could do it again.....competitive people have that mindset.
To head off an argument, I'm NOT backing CMR to stay, I also feel change is needed, but who would walk away from a premier job, whether in sports, an attorney or any other profession??
Real easy for us "to say" but certainly not realistic imo.

Goose, I just get the feeling that Grantham thinks that coaching at the D1 rank is below him. Maybe it is me, just somehow does not feel right.
Might be as yd1 suggested. Maybe things in Athens are not where they should be.
If he takes another visit, here is hoping that his return to Athens will not be the same as when hired.
The small amount of time that I see camera shots of Grantham on the sideline, he is much more under control. Maybe as wlayton suggested, got the money, keep the money. Grantham has had his shot at the NFL, and where is it that his pay window is in 2013?
If Grantham was a "hot item" he would be out of Athens in a flash. Think he has the best paying job he can get at this point in his coaching career.
I feel that we have folks in our coaching ranks that do a lot more and make a lot less. Will put one name out here . . . .

In my business, I can't afford off years. An electrician wires a panel wrong, the house burns down. The plumber misses a solder joint, the house floods. The carpenters are incompetent, a strong wind blows it away. I am only as good as my last job.wlayton wrote: Just like everyone else, I would like to see change in the coaching staff.
