He lost all of them from 2000-2003, but then we were still in the honeymoon period with Richt and the program was surging upward regardless.

Beginning with the 2004 game we are 4-5 in the past 9. One of those 5 losses came in a year when won the SEC (05), one was in a rebuilding year in which the boosters seemingly gave Richt a pass.

Plus Richt followed Goff and Donnan who couldn't beat UF at all.

I guess that's just "booster math" being used to keep richt. All he has to say is that the good ole boys just want to keep richt and be done with it. Not come up with some new math to make himself feel better. Playing a team even and playing a team at 44% if you don't count the first 3 losses isn't exactly the same thing.
That logic is ludicrous--again, your friend should be honest and say the big time boosters love richt, nothing richt does will change that, and there's nothing us peons can do about it.

I think he made his point fairly well...

Richt delivers 9-10 win seasons and beats Tech regularly were the main points of emphasis, and yes those things are good enough for some of the good ole boys.

He wasn't trying to "make himself feel better". He wasn't happy about it... he just said we have some old big money boosters who don't demand any more than what Richt gives us.

Me talking about how it's 4-5 in the last 9 vs UF wasn't anything he said.... that was me trying to get into the heads of people I don't agree with and figure out how they must be thinking.

Sorry, I thought he was saying that, but I guess I should have said the boosters were trying to make themselves feel better, not him specifically.
But the fact that you said in your initial post about it that it was a couple of years ago makes it even more obvious they just want richt no matter what, because then richt was 2-8 against FU and 6-4 against UT, so the only factor he mentioned that richt fulfilled was owning the nerds.

True all that..

I posted that because the topic of what the supporters and fan base demand has been brought up by many.

It's sort of sad (if true) that 9-3 and beating the bugs is enough to keep the big money happy.

Not near enough for me..

Just FYI.
From 1989 - 1995 Goff went 0 - 5 against UT (did not play 1990 & 1991) 1 - 6 against UF and 5 - 2 against GT
From 1996 - 2000, Donnan went 1 - 4 against UT and UF and 2 -3 against GT.
