What has passed is past, and there's not a lot any of us can do about it.
Decisions that need to be made are above our pay scale, and we can't keep on
forever.
In times like these, the best we can do is reduce the season to individual games and let each of them from
here on out become our "season".
First up we have Off-Week, and we know they are going to throw all over us....but please, please can we just
keep them from blocking a punt?
Actually the off-week is an opponent, and the opponent is ourselves. We've got demons to exorcise, and hurdles
we need to clear on our practice field. We must do these things because after the off-week, we see the hated
University of Florida Reptiles.
I am old enough to remember the years where we dominated them, and everyone here is old enough to remember the
years where they dominated us. The worm has sort of turned again, but it's not going to be as easy as we once
thought although we will see the return of Gurley. Honestly... that scares me a bit and here's why. I don't
want this coaching staff to hang everything on his return, and think just his presence on the field will assure
success. It may, but we can't make that assumption and continue to forget that we have TE's and FB's on our roster,
and last I checked they are a part of the offense allowed to touch the ball.
On defense, we've got a team that can't defend the pass against a team with no consistent passing game. Can we
make Tyler Murphy look like Johnny Manziel... who knows? It's entirely possible. In a battle of ineptitude..
anything can happen and probably will.
So this thread is for all things UGA/UF. All we have left is individual battles. Memories of the rivalry and
thoughts on the game... put them down.
