Add the roughing the passer call and the most pathetic third down defense I have ever seen, could have been a different game.
Should've. could've, would've.
Glad you added the personal foul/roughing the passer penalty. Herrera took two extra steps and pushed QB down. D did not get off the field and Missouri went on to score TD.
He is a JR and should know better than that.
TN D......same thing happened to AM at a critical time in the 4th qtr when we were down 7 and the ref didn't call it.....remember that???? Even the announcer said something about it......it was EXACTLY the same 2 step hit etc.
Huge non-call.....(I'm not one to blame refs and am not here either)

I hate saying this but going to be realistic, we are not good enough right now to lose the turnover battle and still win the game. I appreciate the effort from BD all day Saturday, and believe he learned a valuable lesson. Please don't take this as calling the young man out. I was very proud of him, and continue to be. Believe he said he played the rest of the game trying to make up for the fumble, but somethings you cannot make up for. Very mature of him. Wish some of our defensive players had that attitude. Brendan Douglas is going to be a DGD for sure.
Buc, also very right about Herrera. Frustration leads to penalties. Wonder where this team would be had Tree and JJ stayed. JJ was a leader that we are missing on that side. Somehow, Saban keeps those kids around.

You played, you know. Also on point with Douglas, say this, damn glad he did not end up at the trade school.
Vandy will be all over Herrera.
Question . . . . Did you notice that Jenkins was pulled from the game for a while, read that somewhere, did not notice during the game? Too wrapped up in using language at my TV set I suppose.

Dawg With Style, cannot agree that Gurley makes up for the defense.
Gurley, if he returns, makes the offense better, a lot better, if he has healed.
Coaching staff right now is at a point that all of the right things have to be said.
Speaking to what I saw against Missouri . . . . the offensive line has their share of problems. Will say this, the defensive line for Missouri was impressive, or . . . . our offensive line is not all that.
Going to question another player that I have watched closely. Theus at right tackle. Sorry, from what I see from game to game, he is cumbersome. Left tackle, he ain't. Actually playing second string from what I can see. This young man was rated as the number two or three offensive tackle in the country coming out of high school. Guess that says something about the ***** ratings, or something else is wrong somewhere in Athens.
Not trying to be negative to your post . . . . I just try and look at the overall. Gurley cannot continue to get beaten up as has been the case thus far this season. He will do it, but as has been said before, don't want Gurley to come back and get hurt if he is not fully healed. Like David Pollack said on National TV . . . . Gurley is the best back in the Nation.
Just mumbling to myself. Thanks for the post.
