Cats coming to town.

Well, much like any new thread . . . .

What I gathered from this thread . . . . most of us have thoughts on the Georgia/LSU game. Seems most of us have thoughts of caution, not quite sure who we are as a team. Understandable, we have been in this situation many times over a great number of years. Started way before the current group of coaches came to Athens.

Reading a couple of sites that LSU fans participate on . . . . game is in the bag. Coming to Athens to post a solid win for the #6 ranked team in the country. They not only post it, they truly believe it.

Been around for a while, positive thoughts usually produce results.

Go Dawgs, coach'em up . . . .

The LSU defense has not played any offense. They are not a great defense.

LSwho D is weak in the middle. Past LSwho teams have relied on their LB's and Safeties to produce both in the pass rush and pursuit. This LSwho D lacks that which make them susceptible to the quick slant, the screen to the RB's and TE over the middle. We saw a lot of the Dawg game plan for them over the last 2 games. Lynch was really involved Saturday and I truly believe Rome would of caught a few more passes if not injured.

The way to beat them is to start out running the ball and with short passes to get the safeties cheating up and the LB's looking at Gurley, then play action and over the middle to our TE or WR's or even deep. This should be exploited with our speed guys and those who have the hands. We get them down early by say 2 TD's and we can hold our own.

On our D side of the ball is to wrap up and tackle tackle tackle and to get in Metts face. Floyd is going to be real important along with Jenkins. Keep them fresh and rush rush rush the passer......let Wilson and Herrera worry about that big RB.....

I hope I'm wrong but I think LSU will wear down the Dawgs in the second half and will make plays to will this game.

And i hate to say this but if the special teams team plays like they have all year it's going to be a blow out.

The Dawgs offence should score points, just hope AM doesn't get hurt trying to make plays!

Like I said I hope I'm wrong but I don't think the Dawgs pull out a W Saturday but I'm hoping they do!

ogredawg, definitely with you on the tight ends. Did not like the look on Rome's face when he came off of the field.

Lynch is going to the next level and will play. He is the type of tight end that Belichick turns into all pro. Young man had the patience to "hang in there" and it has insured a football future for him. Does not have the attitude that some come to Athens and other universities with. Another example of "patience" paying dividends.

Solid post ogredawg, hope you are right on the linebacking portion. Big backs from LSU are going to make our linebackers produce those 15 tackle type stats.

Always thoughts about the upcoming game against a real solid football team overall, causing us to look at their positives and our weaknesses. Works both ways.

TampaDawg, one thing that I do like is having depth on the defensive front. They are young, but they are men. Good chance we see just how good Wilson's bunch can be this Saturday between the Hedges. Gap responsibility means so much in this game. No one here doubts your love for the Dawgs. Not me.

Go Dawgs, Coach'em Up!

Edit: Davis playing as a freshman ups our chances of keeping in state talent in state. His presence on the field Saturday will draw attention from the bad guys.

Receiver Reggie Davis was chosen as the SEC Freshman of the Week following the win over North Texas. Davis had two catches for 134 yards, including a school-record 98-yard touchdown reception. He also was named the Athlon Sports SEC Freshman of the Week.

The good thing about the TE position is that you can basically set up and run the same patterns with a back. So even with Rome out, we've still got Lynch and we've got backs that can catch. As others have said... this is an area where I think we can make some hay.

There is one play I want to see this week.. I want to see Lynch run a deep post down the middle and then have us through to one of our backs
running underneath into the same void on the field that Lynch just cleared out. If they are weak in the middle... it'll kill them.

Watch for it..

God Bless and Go Dawgs
