Abuurn . . . GET FIRED UP!

That article came across to me as MR using his faith to justify not winning a NC.

I suppose that is insinuating all those that have won NC's have done something underhanded, un-Christian, or otherwise unethical in order to accomplish it.

Whatever.....

I'm going to look at just one statement regarding a very valid reason why we may not
win a NC this year... The SC game.

"But it is about a process. Doing things right, fundamentally, schematically and football-wise."

So MR... let me ask you a question.. What exactly did your team and coaching staff do
right that day? What was right that day fundamentally, schematically and football-wise?

Your faith has nothing to do with it. I'm glad you've got that faith and admire your moral convictions, but having the talent on your football name show up to play up their abilities each and every week is the issue. Had that happened... you would have your
NC, and there wouldn't be a darn thing unethical or un-Christian about it.

I am not following how the article is showing that championships are not important. To me, the article is pointing out that Richt won't forget about his faith in order to achieve winning a NC. He wants to do it the right way. He states that he does his work as if working for the Lord. Bible tells to work with all our hearts as if we are working for the Lord. He has a responsibility in his faith to put all he has into his job, and I believe he is doing that. Sounds to me like he wants to serve the Lord and win football games.

You can't take certain parts are the article and leave others out.

Bad games are going to happen Wart. That's the reason they actually play the games. No coach is above it.

I didn't say the article said he thought NC's are not important. I just said he sounded like he was using his faith to justify his failures.

I also know a bit about football, so I don't really need to be told that bad games are
going to happen.

My point there is they just seem to happen to MR once or twice every single season.

Would you rather us not do it clean, honest and give are all?

I believe the difference is this: here at UGA we are comfortable with the knowledge that we gave it a good, clean, honest effort, even if that means not winning the ultimate prize. And Saban and Miles are LOVING that.

Edit:[It's not the clean honest effort they love - it's the comfort.]

CAN I GET AN AMEN ?

AD5, I was going to just hit that "thank you" button but your post above deserves a big AMEN in my book.
