Abuurn . . . GET FIRED UP!

Couple of things going on in my mind about Auburn and Georgia on Saturday night on the Plains. Maybe more than two . . . . .:)

Start with the coaching staff.
If we have found the formula or formulas necessary to move our program forward, for example, getting our team motivated to play to their potential. Slow starts have been discussed on every board within sight. Guess what catches my eye is this . . . . . We (UGA) seem to be much better this season (2012) making second half changes. Of course that does not include South Carolina and what happened in Columbia.

I have seen some very positive second half changes that had to be made by the coaching staff. Not to be too long, Ole Miss is a very good example of what both sides of the ball did in the second half. Understand that Ole Miss was out manned, that however is on the backs of the two Universities, young players have a choice where they put the cleats on.

I have no doubts that what Auburn is going to see this Saturday is a UGA football team that is wired, focused, use the term that you want, UGA is going to look like a team that wants to be considered to play for all of the marbles. If the team cannot do that, then something could be wrong somewhere within the confines of UGA football.

Auburn is scoring an average of 18.1 points per game. Points against Auburn is 27.3 points per game.

Auburn has two wins at home. New Mexico State and Louisiana Monroe (in overtime).

If our players and coaches have any doubts about the superior team in this battle, then we have a problem. I don’t think that problem exists. Heaven forbid that UGA comes out in the first half and plays football. Damn, what a surprise that would be.

I am one of those folks that hates to see anyone get fired. However, if we should put a serious licking on the War Buzzards (DawgDocs term) I would say to Mark Richt . . . . . Put yourself in Chiziks’s and BVG’s shoes . . . . What would they do?

Georgia wins by . . . . . I don’t do that, but I think we win by more than the experts think.

Go Dawgs, against Auburn it ain’t coaching, it is about players kicking their butts, talent is like cream, rises to the top.

thriller, the article really gives a lot of insight into Mark Richt and his personal beliefs.

Think that I have mentioned several times on this board that Mark Richt is a clone of Bobby Bowden.

If we look at both programs under Bowden and Richt, similar in too many ways. FSU under Bobby Bowden should have had many National Championships, considering the talent base that was always in Tallahassee. What do we hear from all sides describing our UGA football team? So much talent, year after year in Athens falling short.

Good get thriller.

Right, Buc. In fact, as the article points out, "wide right" was the one thing Florida State teams are most famous for - NOT National Championships. And look at our kicking team. How many times have we already seen "wide right" or "wide left"? Too many. That philosophy simply doesn't win National Championships.

You know what I think would be hilarious? If we found out that Nick Saban is a Christian. Then what would be the difference between winning and losing? Faith? I don't think so.

Belief is belief, winning is winning, losing is losing, and coming close is losing too.

Nick Saban was born in Fairmont, West Virginia. He is married to Terry Saban (née Constable) from West Virginia. They have two children, Nicholas and Kristen. He is a devout Roman Catholic, and has a Mass said before every game.

And since we're on the subject, check out this article. I know linking is discouraged, but this was a long article. The point is this - go down the list of mid-season MVP candidates at each position in the NFL and count the number of UGA players. It's VERY impressive. Where is our National Championship? How do you have THAT much talent on your team, and NOT get a National Championship?

Edit: [Three out of the top 24 ain't bad. And that ain't good, as far as COLLEGE output is concerned.]

HA! A devout Christian, is he? So faith AIN'T the difference, then, is it? HA! Thank you, Buc. You just proved something I've said all along - faith has nothing to do with it. Belief is belief, winning is winning, losing is losing, and coming close is losing too.
