Thoughts

For the past few days I have tried to hold back posting, I have lurked on this forum like I do everyday, but I wanted to clear my head on where this team stands this year.
One thing that has opened my eyes is that the game has passed Mark Richt. Anyone can go back to last year when I was supporting him, saying give him another chance blah blah blah, even remind the jokes we shared about an "island". I do not care if we win out the rest of the year or not this coacing staff has to go. How many times have we watched our dogs come into a game unprepared? or how about how they will get down 2 or 3 scores and quit? How many times have we watched other teams with succesful coaches come in and completely surpass a coach that is in his 12th season at Georgia.

Perfect example : Will Muschamp. he came into Florida and in ONE year has built it up to be a contender again for the east. Many of our fan base is happy with the fact that Georgia can and should win 9 to 10 games a season. NOT ME! I unfortunately wasnt alive when Georgia won their last national, I have seen the game ofcourse, but I cannot brag about a national that happened 30 some odd years ago. We have had a coach that has had SO MUCH talent pass through Athens and for what? to settle for 9, 10, 11 win seasons? Then to make matters worse i read where Richt says "it was only one game its not the end of the world." hes right ofcourse it is one game, but it is a game that we flat out got embarrassed in and THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE BEEN EMBARRASSED ON A NATIONALLY TELEVISED GAME EITHER.

I'm starting to see what many on this board have been preaching for a LONG time. Richt is great at whooping up on cupcakes, but when it comes to making us relevant for a national title, he isnt even on the radar, no where close actually. Last saturday we showed no fire, no passion for winning, our defense took the old bend and break method, our offensive line completely caved in on itself, and our coaches showed once again how they will never EVER lead us to a national championship.

In short, get kirby on the phone. I am quite frankly tired of seeing this team fall flat on its ass in big games. with the talent we have in athens, we should be giving bama a run for their money.

my thoughts are this:

LSU 400+ total yards 250+ rushing yards and beat Carolina=a prepared team even with a half assed offense and injuries to the O line. Miles ain't the best or smartest coach but at least he prepares his team to play

UGA has more talent at all the positions other than the O line. We do not recruit the O line players. We have 30 scholarships and what 3 or 4 are for the O line which with that many we should have 9-10 commited because we are deep at all other positions, and are good with them for 2-3 even 4 years down the road. Bottom line for me is:

Entire coaching staff needs to be replaced. It stinks from the head down and Kirby needs to come home.

That will not happen. Why? Because the gaytors beat Carolina next week and we beat the gaytors in 2 weeks and win the East. Mark my word it will happen just that way, and Kirby goes elsewhere like Tennedamnssee. End of story.

I honestly don't see Florida beating USC. The Gators, though better than expected, have been by far the luckiest ranked team this year in terms of timing. Trust me, if A&M had played the Louisiana Tech game that got postponed and had gotten a warm-up before being tossed into the SEC as their first game of the season, they would have beaten UF. Florida also got an LSU that still hadn't found their offense. If that game is played next weekend, UF loses. The Gators have beaten one good and one great team that were both out of synch at the time that they played, and the rest have been cupcakes. There is no way Florida will catch the Gamecocks off guard. They are angry and Spurrier will have them ready. This game is extra special important for the old ball coach and not one that USC will overlook.

I don't see us beating FU either. But regardless of how those games play out, I still see us stuck with richt because he'll get his 9-10 wins against his cream puff schedule, and that is enough to satisfy the powers that be.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
