Yes he has just as much talent, and his D won quite a few games over the last 2 seasons for us when we had a "conservative" run the TB up the middle type O. Over 80+ plays a game will tire any D out. Not making excuses but CTG gets a pass on past performance from me anyhoo.......
Look at it this way...imagine where we'd be right now if the offense had to play the first two weeks without Kenarious Gates, Dallas Lee, Tavarres King, and Arthur Lynch and then had to play the next two weeks with Gates and TK still out. That's basically what the defense has had to face the first 4 weeks.
Like you Ogre...not making excuses, but Tree, Rambo, Commings, and Vasser left some pretty big shoes to be filled through the first 3rd of the season...not having talent like that on the field will affect any defense.

Mike a solid post. Don't think I have read or heard anywhere Todd Grantham moaning about losing players of this caliber, especially for the length of time they could not participate. Like ogredawg and others, believe that Grantham has found a home, and I really hope that turns out to be a long term deal.
Much talk about Jarvis Jones, rightfully so, he is all about the game.
Seem to remember words out of Todd Grantham's mouth last season about Ogletree and what he means to this football team. Grantham does not seem to be long winded and hands out congrats when deserved.
Ogletree comes out of (semi-retirement)

Saw some of the same rust on Rambo...who knows if TN would've EVER built up steam if he would've timed his jump right on the INT he went for. I know, I know...go after the player, not the ball, but if he hadn't had the rust, we may have had a pick six of our own. Shoulda, woulda, coulda I guess.
Here's what I know...we have our entire defense back and healthy (assuming the groin isn't still bothering Jarvis)...we hopefully have first game jitters/rust knocked off of what I think is our best athlete on that side of the ball (Tree) and our ball-hawk safety and because of that, our original starter (Commings) back at the boundary corner spot. We have not only 5 games worth of tape to watch on SC, but the tape from TN on Saturday, with all of our starters playing, for the defense to study...we have a week of practice for all 11 to get back into the habit of communicating with each other on the field. Y'all know I'm not one to make predictions on outcomes, but I'm thinking our defense will be just fine on Saturday.

If Rambo had been paying attention he would have at LEAST hit the guy around the 5-7 yard line. Go back and look at a replay of the game and you will see what I'm talking about. If he pays attention they may not have scored on THAT play anyway.
