Just goes to show how Franklin operates. Nobody knows what is up with Rodgers. We will see... It's no wonder the smart recruits abandon ship.

Hoping that the Vandy games allows Josh Dawson a chance to make "several" plays. Would not put that past Grantham either.

For Franklin. I respect that the guy doesn't want his program to march to the same beat Vandy always has. At the same time Coach Franklin, you better remember that this is the SEC. You also might want to take a look at CTG's resume, it is much better than yours.
GO DAWGS, Saturday night will be a fight. BE READY EARLY.

Really like your comment on the building of the program. At some point if we want to participate regularly in the top group of D1 universities, the ground work has to be laid, think most of the group is in place to do that.
Should not say this too often, but will . . . . chances are someone will "get us" even with this "weak schedule", that however does not ruin the building blocks that are being laid in Athens. Ball bounces funny, does not always work for us. What I am seeing as you mentioned above, the third and fourth quarters look much better. You played, you know what it means to have coaches that can recognize and change the game plan from the previous weeks work on the practice field and film study. Can't get away from this statement . . . . Todd Grantham is a "teacher", a "teacher" with a solid resume. Men he worked with while on the Dallas Cowboy staff, defensive line, probably the strongest part of their team.
All I have ever asked of our football team is not to quit. Witnessed that soon after I came to this board and watched Tennessee kick our butts and they were not close to the team we were personnel wise. Being a "newbie" did not know what the "regulars" would think with me making the post that I did about our failures. After that, knew that this was the board I wanted to participate with. Long sometimes, or most times, but it comes from the heart.
Vandy will play hard, Georgia will play hard. We win, this program is going to take another step up the ladder. Don't care that Vandy is 1-2 and not in the top 25 or top anything, these are the games that matter as much to Vandy as they do to Georgia. Mark Richt said on Tuesday that he likes playing night games . . . . . Mark, Saturday night in Athens, between the Hedges, national television . . . . this is a game that really needs to be in the win column. You know, we know, let's go.
Go Dawgs . . .

AllDawgs5 wrote: Buc, just got back in town and read your last 2 post. Absolutely spot on. First, I too feel very good about what I am seeing from our Dawgs. It has so much more to do than being 3-0. I feel like we are building. Years past, wasn't always so sure. Seems we have played better 2nd halfs in every game this year. I like that. Coaches are doing their jobs in the locker room. Also, read some statements about why CMR wanted CTG. I am beginning to think CMR had a lot more to do with the hire of CTG than I wanted to give him credit for. Seems he did his homework. Seems he realized he needed someone with a lot of fire leading that side of the ball. CMR has mentioned in the past that he lets CTG be in complete control of that side of the ball. Betting CTG really appreciates that. Not many coach's ego's will allow that. I appreciate that about CMR.

AllDawgs5 - you're right about building and how that hasn't always seemed to be the case. Washaun who? Caleb who? Isaiah who? If I missed someone, it's probably because I can't remember his FIRST name.
Isn't it nice to feel like we finally have RBs who not only have the ability to "tote that rock", but also SEEM to have the ability to stay out of trouble AND get good grades? That, along with what appears to be improved play calling (fingers crossed) feels like building. And the much maligned O-line, looking at replays, appears to be coming together and doing well in some complicated blocking schemes. I still go back to the Gurley long run against Missouri and the last Malcome TD against Missouri and look at the blocking on those two plays - pretty close to perfection, and the results bear that out.

Picked the following article up from Marc Weiszer, reporter for the Athens Banner-Herald.
Georgia may have the first change to its starting offensive line this season.
Left guard Dallas Lee has a “good chance” of playing Saturday after spraining his left ankle against Florida Atlantic, but coach Mark Richt said that’s not a guarantee and if he does play, he may not start.
Georgia could start junior college transfer Mark Beard at left tackle and move Kenarious Gates to left guard. That was the lineup on the left side of the line after Lee’s injury.
“I think you’d have to measure a gimpy Lee compared to a healthy Beard,” Richt said. “What do you do? Even if he’s given the ‘OK’ to go, he still may not. If he starts he may rotate more than normal because Beard played good enough to prove that he can get around so we may rotate around and take some pressure off
that ankle.”
Gates, Lee, center David Andrews, right guard Chris Burnette and right tackle John Theus have started the first three games.
Beard realizes there’s pressure in protecting Aaron Murray’s blind side, but he said left tackle is the only position he’s played since pee wee football
As for starting, Beard said: “You can get the first jitterbugs out faster. The guys (starting) already have had contact. Their butterflies are gone, but you still have yours.”
Richt said that freshman John Theus continues to work strictly at right tackle.
“The assignments wouldn’t be as much of an issue as just learning how to pass set from the left side,” Richt said. “He’s got so many quality reps on the right, it’s hard to throw a guy over there, especially as a freshman. I don’t know if he’ll change to left ever, but there’s more of a chance of getting him some reps in the spring and that type of thing if you want to at least experiment.”
