kentdaddy, one of the reasons that I find myself thinking that keeping Richt would be the lesser of two evils, is one, recruiting. Know that above I mentioned character issues with recruiting. Two would be Grantham would stay, not having to leave because a new head coach was hired. That would probably be the case.
When coaches from other teams give their assessments of UGA lately, first thing mentioned is the UGA defense. Mullen talked about our defense in his presser. This is a big defense, also has speed and appears to be liking the 3/4 4/3 under Grantham. If I were Richt, I would be glad that my 5th choice turned out to be my defensive coordinator.
Let it be said again, in the SEC, you win with defense, and apparently that also applies to NC's.

We have had enough of poor (character) recruiting in the past several years. A head coach with high character that is talked about everywhere. What happens to the guys when they hit campus. Maybe Richt has had a belly full of the BS, if not join in and leave with the next group.

Let him go....bad attitude and not a team player.
Not enough room for BVG and CTG, plus BVG has too big of an ego to share. Use the money for a big time OC. (btw, know you weren't realistically serious kd

I will not argue that BVG was one helluva of DC and still is. I wished he would have come to UGA after his experience at GSU. It seemed to a humbling experience for him. No offense to BVG, would not want him as a HC. He took an offense averaging over 40pt per game, down to 20pts in his first season.
Buc, I agree with your point on losing Richt. It will more than likely mean we lose CTG too. Seems Richt has a lot of confidence in CTG. Richt has given CTG freedon, and DC's appreciate that. If we fire Richt, he will land another coaching job. Betting CTG is going to be his man on the defensive side of the ball. I sure would like to see the Old Richt calling the offense with CTG as his DC. Got the feeling at times last Sat that is what I was seeing. I know it was fun watching those UGA teams when BVG and Richt were working together.
