Back from Ol Miss

I'm back from Ol Miss and this is what I saw from the stands.

BOBO is still BOZO

We run the same plays over and over and over and over. If it wasn't for the TALENT of the players on the field we would have lost that game I do believe. We still don't have that go to guy for a wide receiver Malcom Mitchell is looking like our BIG play man. Orson still has it in him but dropped 2 pass's in his hands. I still think he's one of the top tight ends in the country but we got to have those catch's. Our offensive line is still weak and collapse's way to fast AM is running for his life back there. We still don't have any running game up the middle. And my last comment on offense is WHY IN THE HELL DID WE TAKE CARLTON THOMAS OUT AND PUT RICHARD SAMUEL IN THE GAME????? Carlton was breaking 5-12 yards a carry getting somewhere and then we put in Richard that could keep his feet under him. Yes he had 2 catch's but that's it. And there's another play that I have seen 2 weeks in a row where Carlton Thomas runs out of the back field and is in the open AIR wide the F open and AM throw's right down the middle to Michael Bennett. We've ran the play 3 times now and He's caught the pass once and Carlton has been open WIDE OPEN with NO ONE AROUND HIM for 20-30 yards it's only a matter of time before the defense catch's on and that's a pick everytime.

Defense actually looks good our d-backs worry me there was a couple of pass's where ol miss qb did over throw the ball (thank god) that our db's did'nt get there head turn'd around and if the pass would have been close it could have been easy 20 yards. The line and linebackers look great can't complain about them they keep up in the game and really won us the game.

Special team's HELP!!!!!!!!!

One last thing. I'm not liking what I see with IC..And please God I hope I'm wrong about this. But I sat in the family section at the Coastal Carolina game each player get's 4 tickets except IC he get's 8 IC also has someone that walk's with him and carry's his head phones his bag's etc etc. And on the field I see him walking to much this isn't high school football kid get your butt on or off the field and in the huddle where ever your soppose to be. I don't know if it was shown on TV but he was coming off the field walking and coach's where yelling at him to get off the field before they got called for have 12 players on the field and we he finally got off #2 BB gave him a ear full on the side line which I did like seeing. But I just get the vibe of him already getting "Big Headed". Don't get me wrong he's good but being good can also get you in trouble.

stanger glad to see you mention Carlton Thomas. I watched this young man in high school, and he was a really good back. He is from the Kissimmee, Florida area. Say this, anyone that can pick up the kind of yardage he did behind this offensive line, has to have talent. You are totally right about them not throwing the ball to him in open space. That is where CT does his thing. It was mentioned here when we first signed him, his size was a problem. Goes back to something I mentioned in another thread, we recruit talent well, then have the heartbreaking reality that Bobo and others (not here now) will find a way to screw the young men up. Richt/Bobo are in a fog.

ONLY use Samuel in passing situations......blocking for AM and catching the ball out of the backfield. He has very good hands and is a good blocker but is a terrible RB. He goes down on "phantom" tackles.

Just read an article that has Derek Owens leaving UGA. Understandable when a young fellow wants to get on the playing field, and I am assuming that is the reason for Derek cleaning out his locker. He missed the game in Memphis last season, think it was because of grades. This year he has been playing on Special Teams. Wish the best for Derek.

Another thought or two on the same subject. Appears to me that Grantham has drawn a line in the sand. He is going to play the best 11 he has, regardless of time in grade. He said it, I believe it. This defensive front that UGA has is sizeable and looking to improve. Don't think that Grantham will accept any thing less than 100%. UGA has needed an attitude on the defensive side of the ball for several years, think we hired a huge "attitude" when Grantham left the Cowboys and parked his fanny in Athens. The defense this year does not come close to resembling the defense Grantham had in his first year. Know how that works folks . . . . . freshmen get better with time. Referring to Grantham as a freshman last season, sophomore year looking much better. Can't wait for Grantham to be come a senior. That could be . . . . can I say this . . . . Alabama/LSU awesome . . . Hope this coach stays.

great improvement from last year...and anything was an improvement from WM....realize it is still early but gotta agree with ya Buc.....CTG is doing his job and doing it well....now if we can just find an OC ;)

Through four weeks, Georgia ranks 13th in the nation in yards allowed and second only to Alabama in the SEC

ogredawg notice that Richt has thrown a couple of kudos in the direction of Grantham the last couple of weeks. Not sure, but don't think that I saw Bobo on the sidelines in Mississippi. If that is the case, hope that Bobo stays away from the players. Last half of last season, Bobo had his fanny parked under Richt most of the game. Richt in his presser did pat the offense on the back, to be expected.

Watched the game again, parts of it, fast forward and such. Lee at offensive guard has an attitude. Not sure he is going to give that position up. Love it when the young men start to believe in themselves and team play. Hoping that Friend turns out to be that "Erk" on the other side of the ball. Having good vibes about Friend and Grantham, Lakatos . . . . . can't seem to kick the Bobo stuff to the curb. Probably me, will continue to watch the goings on.

Edit: The stats that you put up in your post mean a lot, especially when we look at Boise State and South Carolina. Says a lot to me anyway. :)
