From Athens - Game Day Friday #2

Great point...the good news (at least for this week as his coverage skills can be "suspect") is that Rambo is back and he can, hopefully, at least help the LB's with being aggressive against the run. Again, I know there's more than a few people on here (myself included) who aren't totally sold on Rambo's (or Fudge's, if you prefer) overall skillset, BUT we can at least hope he comes back fired up and ready to pin his ears back and lay the wood to a Lattimore or two...

Mike, not to be ugly, doubt however that Rambo will be the first hit on Lattimore. Guess I am one of those that thinks that "ding" against Auburn changed his personality. Also another example of a player getting relieved of his duties before a game played on national TV. I am like wlayton said, tired. Too much of the same in year 2011, or is this 2010, 2009, 2008 . . . know what I mean.

Unfortunately I feel like Rambo might be the first hit on Lattimore way too often
in this game.

Ask any coach, and they will tell you when your safety is your leading tackler
when the opponents run... you're in big trouble. The 3-4 is designed to have
the D-linemen tie up the O-linemen allowing the LB's to come in for the kill.

If Rambo is making the tackles on Lattimore, then that means he is getting
to level 3 of 3 before we start trying to get him down.

That's a problem my friends. At the best that means a 7-10 yard gain from the
other teams RB, and at worst it will mean Rambo keeps creeping in closer and
closer and biting on the run until Spurrier goes over the top of him with
that big receiver.

Bump in over the top . . . . . Spurrier loves doing that, but . . . . back in his Florida days, he kicked our butts with the flat pass and speed. We did not catch on to that either . . . . little bit like Boise State throwing slants, we could not figure that out. Get the hell out of the zone, if you don't have folks that can put pressure on the quarterback, recruit differently, or bring in a new regime. I vote for a new coaching staff. Sad. Tomorrow will tell most of us what we need to know. Hope that plays out in Athens. Beat South Carolina or resign Richt. Or, fire him McGarity.
